Page 63 of Breaking Vincent

“No problem,” I say and then Bowie tugs at my sleeve. I pull the phone away from my ear and cover the microphone, “Daddy is coming for you. Do you want to talk to him?”

Bowie nods his head and I pass the phone over to him, before standing up and making my way over to the sofas they have placed in the reception area, giving him some privacy to talk to his daddy.

A couple of minutes later, Bowie hangs up the phone and dabs his wet eyes with his sleeves. I stand up and walk back over to him, “Want to talk about it?”

Bowie shrugs his shoulders, “It’s stupid really. There's just a man who works here and he’s a real piece of work.”

I do a quick mind check of the staff I’ve met since coming here, and someone particular stands out from the bunch. “Any chance you’re on about Tom?”

Bowie's eyes light up in surprise, “You know him?”

“Barely. I met him once and he was a prick. Made some gross comments about me and was a dick towards Master David.”

Bowie nods his head as he rolls his plump lips between his teeth. “He’s been mean to me a couple of times, and I usually ignore him. I thought he was picking on me because I’m new to working here. But he was saying nasty things about my daddy.”

My blood boils at the thought of that dickhead being mean to Bowie. The boy is a sweetheart and wouldn’t do anything to bother people. “Have you spoken to William about it?”

Bowie shakes his head, “No. I was embarrassed and I thought if I complained then he would fire me and replace me with someone new. I love this job and I don’t want to do anything to mess it up.”

My heart is breaking for him.

“After your daddy has come to pick you up, would you like me to talk to Master David and William?”

Bowie shrugs, “You can talk to your Master, but please don’t say anything to William.”

The front door is ripped open before a man rushed towards us; it takes me a second to realise this is Bowie's partner.

“Baby, come here,” the man says as he scoops Bowie into his arms.

Not wanting to intrude on the moment, I quickly say, “Let me just go and find someone to cover the desk and then you can go.”

I hope William doesn’t mind me telling Bowie to go home early, but I’m sure he’ll understand when he finds out what happened.

Luckily it doesn’t take me long to find David, and when I do I have to give my head a little shake. The man looks hot as fuck, but there are more important issues at hand.

“Tesoro, I didn’t know you were coming tonight,” David says as soon as I reach him.

“It was supposed to be a surprise. But we have a situation at reception, I’ll explain when we get there.” I drag David behind me and he follows me without questioning me.

When we get back to the reception area, we find Bowie cuddled up on his daddy's lap and he quietly sobs into his neck.

David rushes over to the guys. “Bowie, what's going on? Are you alright?”

Bowie's eyes find mine and he nods his head at me.

I walk over and put my hand on David's shoulder, “I’ll explain in a minute.” I look at his daddy and nod my head to the door, “How about you take Bowie home and David can take over the desk?”

After a quick goodbye Bowie and his daddy are walking out of the building, leaving David and I alone in the room.

David sits on the sofa and pulls me down next to him, “Tell me what happened.”

I give him a quick rundown of what Bowie told me, and just as I thought, David is pissed. “Fuck, I thought Tom was just a dick to me. I didn’t realise he was picking on Bowie too.” He scrapes a hand down his stubbly cheeks and says, “What do I do now? I know Bowie doesn’t want William to know, but Tom can’t get away with acting like that. What if he does something dangerous?”

“How does he act towards the members? Has anybody complained about him before?” I ask.

David thinks for a minute, before saying, “To be honest, I’m not sure. A lot of the subs won’t go near him unless they have to and I know the Dom’s won’t even entertain a conversation with him. Which now that I think about it, is a major red flag.”

A plan is starting to form in my head, a way to get rid of Tom, without breaking Bowie's wishes. “I have an idea. You’re just going to have to trust me on it, ok?”
