“That’s his mistake,” Ford mutters.
Tessa nods. “It is. So, what if you have an opening night party for the gym, but word gets out that Lucien, Sin, and Ted are occupied elsewhere?”
“And where would we be, exactly?” Sin says, in that same dangerously calm voice.
“Strategically placed in the gym ready to spring the trap. I don’t really care where he thinks you are,” she shoots back.
Lucien puts his hand on Sin’s shoulder, pulling him back. “It’s not a bad plan.”
“Why do all of the plans involve using my wife as bait?”
“Because I’m who he’s after. Do you think we can hijack the meeting with Gerrick and Jones, too?”
Ted shakes his head. “There will be too many people around. That’s a lot of potential witnesses for any of them to show their faces.”
Shane smirks. “But I can steal Jesse’s voice to make a call to Jones after we clear the place out and lure him out of hiding with his own puppet. Why set the same trap twice?”
“And Gerrick?” Sin asks.
Lucien tips his head back and groans. “I guess we find out who’s working with us and who’s against us once and for all.”
“Luce—” Sin begins.
Lucien throws his hands up. “I know you don’t like it, but I’d rather risk Raven around that pissant than the professionals. Once he’s secured, we use the douche to lure out Jones, and the girls go somewhere safe.”
“Good thing Shane and I have been building a safe room then. They’ll be nearby so we can get to them, but not accessible to anyone coming after them,” Ford adds.
“A safe room?” I ask, baffled.
“It’s a women’s shelter. I think a safe room is a good addition,” he replies.
I nod. “Yeah, when you put it that way, it does. Although, I might have a better idea.”
“What would that be?” Sin asks me. “I know whatever you’re about to say I’m not going to like.”
“Remember when we picked off my father’s men from the loft of that warehouse?”
He nods. “You aren’t suggesting we set the building on fire, are you?”
That makes me smile. “No, but I do love archery.”
“Guns would be smarter,” Ted mumbles.
“Did you know I was a skeet shooting champion in high school?” Amber blurts out, causing everyone to look at her.
“What?” Ted and Lucien ask at the same time.
Amber nods. “Yeah, I’ve taken Jen several times when you guys are being dicks. She’s pretty good too.”
“Sounds like we get to be snipers,” Tessa says.
“You too?” Lucien asks.
Ford groans. “Yeah, I taught her when we were teenagers. She can shoot.”
“Fantastic. The plan is to lure a jackass to a party to kidnap my wife, then go up against a major criminal with a bunch of girls acting as our backup? I’m going to get fucking shot again, I know it,” Sin bitches.
“Don’t worry, husband, I’ll protect you,” I coo.
