Mo sauntered over and placed her hand on his chest. “I can’t imagine why any woman would spurn you, Commander.”

“Believe it, Reardon. I’m relieved you didn’t use that ‘two ex-husbands’ line on me at the wedding.”

The corners of her eyes crinkled with humor. “Because you’re special. You know how to tango.”

“Oh, so it’s my dancing ability that captivated you?”

“Absolutely. Your promenade left turns are flawless.”

“That’s what won you over?”

“Well, that, and we looked so good during our impeccable executions of the medio cortes.”

Mac tugged her into his arms. Her eyes sparkled in the teasing manner he loved.

She wound her arms around his neck and continued. “And the laughter. I think that being able to laugh with someone is extremely important. It lightens the soul in the dark times.”

“Oh, so now I’m funny?” He kissed her cheek and let his lips hover a breath away from hers.

“Sometimes. You’re a serious, committed person, Mac. I love that about you. But I also like that you can look up, enjoy the moment, and laugh with me. It’s endearing.” She stroked her soft fingers down his face and gazed into his eyes. “Thank you for shaving. I love a smooth face.” She traced a finger across his bottom lip.

The woman was irresistible. He rested his lips against hers. “I’m playing for keeps this time, Reardon. If anyone walks away, it will be you, because once we’re involved again, I’m in—for the long haul. You’re not a one-night stand to me. You never were.”

Her eyes glistened as she pulled him in. “Shhh…kiss me.”

Tentative and tender, his hands framed her face. He loved her dimples and started with them, nibbling his way to her lips. With small murmurs and sighs, they welcomed each other back. One kiss led to another and then another. His heart pounded in his chest. He’d welcomed many women to his bed and his wallet over the years, but Mo Reardon was the only one he’d ever considered offering his heart to. “Please stay here for the rest of the cruise. There’s plenty of room, and I know you love that veranda. Your stateroom view is blocked by a lifeboat.”

“If I stayed here, your veranda wouldn’t be the main attraction.” Mo placed another love bite on his lips. “The main attraction would be your endless supply of concierge supplied cupcakes.” She winked and kissed him again.

He took her hand and held the veranda door open. “A little dancing under the stars?”

Mo stepped outside and leaned her head back. “That sky is breathtaking. All those stars.”

Mac tucked her soft hand on his chest and whispered in her ear as they swayed. “Stay with me, Mo. Fly me to the moon.”

When the song ended, she sighed and peered up at him. “We’ll take it slower this time?”

Damn. The word slow didn’t even exist where this woman was concerned.
