Page 12 of Bruise Me Tenderly
His hands slide under my T-shirt, his long fingers caressing my skin.
I press my forehead to his and close my eyes. “I want you, River.”
He laughs lightly. “You’ve always had me. Take whatever you want from me. I’m still yours, Judson.”
Fuck, what am I supposed to say to that? It’s all I’ve ever wanted to hear him say. The only thing I’ve been certain of since my father died is River. He’s been there for me through so many things, and I fell in love with him before I even knew I had feelings for him.
I grab his hips and pull him close so I can slant my mouth over his. He kisses me back hungrily, and I want to kick myself for letting so much time pass before seeing him again.Beingwith him again.
I guide him back to the bed and only release him so I can get rid of my clothes. In just those few seconds, my hands start aching to be touching him again. And when he’s pulling his own clothes off, baring himself to me, I can’t believe how fucking lucky I am.
My breath catches in my chest as I stare down at him. This man I’ve wanted for so long. The first person I ever fell in love with. After everything I did, he’s here, looking up at me,waitingfor me.
He reaches up and grips the back of my neck to pull me down so he can press our lips together. My tongue immediately slides into his mouth as I slot my body between his legs.
River shudders, and I pause to make sure he’s okay. I’ve been with others since Ian, but I don’t know if River has.
“I’m okay,” he says, his knees tightening around my thighs.
“Do you want to stop?”
“No fucking way,” he growls.
Lust powers through my veins, mixing with some other emotion. An emotion I’ve only
ever felt when I was with River. A connection that’s buried deep in the very marrow of my bones.
“Lube in the side table?” I ask, already reaching for it.
River’s eyes refocus, and he lets out a sigh. “No, I, um, don’t have any. I was hoping maybe you might.”
“Well, I didn’t plan on fucking anyone while I was here,” I reply. “Do you have coconut oil?”
He lifts his eyebrows. “Yeah, in the kitchen. You sure that’ll work?”
“I’ve done it before.”
He still looks a little dubious as he stands, so I grab his hand before he can get too far.
“I wouldn’t do anything to hurt you,” I tell him.
His lips pull up in a smile. “I know. I’ll go grab it.”
I lean back on my hands and watch as he walks away, admiring the view of his taut ass. I can’t believe I’m here. Can’t believe he’s letting me touch him again. After what happened with—
No.Don’t think about that.
I shake my head in an attempt to clear it and refocus on the here and now of watching River come back toward me. His brow is furrowed as he reads the back of the coconut oil bottle, completely unaware of the fact that I’m staring at his dick.
When he gets near enough, I reach out and grab his hip, pulling him close. “So? Trust me with it?”
“I suppose,” he relents.
“Good. Lie back.”
“I can do it myself,” he says, embarrassment creeping into his tone. “You don’t have to do that.”
“Have to? River, do you really have no idea how long I’ve wanted to be with you again?” When we were stuck in Ian’s basement, everything felt rushed. I want to take my time now that I have him again.
