“Like stroking myself with them until I come all over the scrap of lace and my hand,” he whispers in my ear, making me gasp.

“I was thinking more like you framing them and hanging them up in your clubhouse like some kind of bizarre trophy, alongside all the other poor unfortunate saps that handed theirs over after seeing that damn tongue piercing.”

He snickers, looking far too pleased with himself and thoroughly amused by this whole conversation. I reach up and run my finger across his eyebrow, where he has another piercing. I trail my fingers down his cheek until they reach his lips and tug lightly on his lip ring.

“How would this even work? I’m going to be busy and?—”

He slams his mouth down on mine, cutting off any protest I might’ve had. As I melt into him, all logic flies out the window, and I forget all the reasons why this is a bad idea.

When he pulls away, I blink, dazed for a moment as I hear Nevaeh laugh in the background.

“We’ll figure it out. Leave it to me.”

I bite my lip and look at him before I finally give in. “Please don’t make me regret this.”

He doesn’t say anything. He just pulls me in tight and kisses my forehead as I hear Midas climbing onto his bike beside us.

“What are you doing tomorrow?” G asks as he lets me go so he can get on his own bike.

“Nothing, why?”

“Go out on a date with me.”

I open my mouth, but Nevaeh beats me to it. “She’d love to.”

I close my mouth and turn to glare at her.

“I’ll pick you up for breakfast.” He has his helmet on and is revving his bike before I can say anything.

He winks and pulls down his visor, nodding to Midas. They take off as I step back and stand beside Nevaeh. We watch until the bikes are out of sight, then turn to look at each other.

She frowns. “So that just happened, right?”

“If you mean two hot bikers showing up in the middle of the night while we’re dressed in our PJs? Then yeah, that just happened.”

“I’m putting this in a book.”

“Wow, I’m shocked.”

“Really?”

“Not even a little.” I snort, heading back inside. “I don’t know if dating him is a good idea, though, Pippin. This is probably going to blow up in my face.”

“Then at least you’ll go out with a bang.” She laughs when I turn to give her a look. “Come on, Amity, all you do is work and work out. There’s more to life than that. You know, like actually living.”

“Me thinks you are projecting, Pippin. I’m not gonna deny that I work a lot. I do, and that leaves me with very little time for relationships, especially with how much I travel. But I do have them. Can you say the same?”

“This isn’t about me,” she says, making me laugh as I grab the milk from the fridge and pour myself a glass.

“Well, let’s make it about both of us. I’ll be open to dating G if you put yourself out there a little, too.” I hold up my hand when she looks like she’s about to protest. “I’m not telling you to lose your V-card. Call me old-fashioned, but I want that to mean something to you. If I could do it over, I would’ve waited instead of losing it in the back seat of Marcus Cannon’s mom’s car when I was sixteen.”

“He was hot, though.”

“He was also small. I didn’t even know we had sex until he shuddered and got off me.”

She laughs, covering her mouth with her hands.

“I wondered what all the damn fuss was about. I didn’t have sex again until I was twenty because it just didn’t seem worth it.”
