Alistair stared at us with a grin on his face. “Do not feel as if you have to remain here and chat with us,” Alistair said.

“Are all of the kids with Dad?” Arthur asked.

Alistair nodded.

“Even the twins?”

“Thankfully, yes,” River said. He looked at Alistair, who gave his One a look. “What? They’re two, Alistair. They are a handful, and you know it. Don’t act as if you don’t know that. I have four to chase after, and the fact that Wallace only has to show up and they all run to him, I’m not going to complain that your grandpa has the kids and I can relax on the couch and not have to worry because it’s quiet in the house.”

“We’re going to go,” I said suddenly as I grabbed Arthur’s hand.

“But I just arrived.”

I pulled on Arthur, who stood despite his attempt at a protest. “Yes, but River is right. They are kid-free.” I gave hima look. We’d not been kid-free for too terribly long. I had come over with Edric a little while ago so he could see the other children, but Alistair had returned home shortly after with Edison and Wallace. That was all it took for the children to want to run off with Edison and Wallace. They were going up to the mountaintop and had promised to bring the children back later that evening. “So are we,” I added. I was hoping that Arthur would get the hint, but he seemed to be slow to pick up on what I was saying.

“Are you going to be here for long?” Alistair asked.

“At least a couple of days. Costas is more than capable of watching over the coven for me. Even with the new additions, I’m not worried. Between him, Balthazar, and Fenwick, everything will be fine.”

Alistair looked like he was going to continue on with the conversation, but a quick glance to River had me winking at our son-in-law.

“We’ll be sure to call and figure out a time to have dinner. We’ll see you later,” I said before grabbing Arthur’s arm and then popping us out of their place and into the cabin I was staying in. Arthur gave me a look and appeared about to argue until I shook my head. “It is understandable that you wish to see your son and his One. But River most certainly does not wish to have us there. He would rather be spending time alone, and probably naked, in their bedroom since all four of their children are with your dads.”

Arthur’s mouth parted before he grinned. “True. I hadn’t thought about that. I will be sure to apologize next time I’m there.”

I shook my head again. “Really, Arthur, just let it be. They are going to be doing what I hope we will be able to do at least once while you are here,” I told him as I moved closer. I gave him a look that had always worked before, and this time was nodifferent. We’d been together for so long, and even without the benefit of our mate bond, Arthur knew me and what I wanted simply by my looks and mannerisms.

“Oh. Yes, we can certainly make that happen. But that’s not why I came.”

I rolled my eyes. “I’m aware, Arthur. You’re being a bit dense at the moment, sweetheart. I want you inside me. Desperately. What more do I have to do to make that happen?” I took a step back, raised one hand above my head just to be a bit dramatic, and then magicked my clothing off. I raised an eyebrow at Arthur in question, wondering if that would work.

He cleared his throat, and then I found myself exactly where I wanted to be: in bed with a naked Arthur on top of me. “You’re correct. I was being dense. I do apologize. My mind has been at war with itself lately. Let’s forget all about everything pertaining to the council and the coven for a bit and become reacquainted.”

I smiled and was about to argue that we’d never become unacquainted, but Arthur distracted me in the best of ways. When his mouth came down on mine, I sighed into the kiss. Even after all of this time, my body still responded to Arthur in ways that I couldn’t describe. His tongue pushed out against mine, and I ran my hands up his back while he moved his down my side.

Arthur broke the kiss but immediately trailed his lips across my cheek and to that spot below my ear that both tickled and turned me on. He didn’t stop there though. He quickly moved down my body, stopping at my nipples only long enough to lick at them a few times before moving to my naval. I wiggled a bit because it was another one of my spots that tickled yet turned me on.

I should have realized where Arthur was going, but I’d been so wrapped up in him simply being here, and being with me in this way, that I’d not been completely focused on the directionhe’d been moving except down my body. But he made a detour to my hip, and when his tongue licked over my claiming mark, I gasped. That was obviously an erogenous zone. Always would be. But Arthur knew exactly how to make me squirm while paying attention to my claiming mark.

Fingers ran along the crease between my leg and groin and then moved down below my sac. Arthur applied gentle pressure, pulling a moan from me. Those incredibly talented fingers didn’t stay there long, and when they moved back just a bit, Arthur moaned. He’d found my hole, which was already slick.

His fingers easily slid inside. When he sucked on my claiming mark at the same time his fingers rubbed over my prostate, a jolt of pleasure went through my body, and I moaned loudly. I wiggled on the bed, needing more.

“Arthur,” I groaned out when he did it again.

“Yes, my love?”

“I need you.”

“You will have me. But do you not want foreplay?”

I groaned. I loved foreplay, and he knew it. But there was a sudden need and urgency coursing through my body I couldn’t quite explain.

I turned my head to the side and reached for the pillow. I pulled it to me, and when Arthur continued to rub over my prostate while sucking on my claiming mark and not my cock, I lifted the pillow and whacked him on the top of his head with it. Immediately, the fingers pulled free, and Arthur’s head popped up, and he looked at me.

“What was that for?”

“You know exactly what that was for. You also know where I want you sucking, and it isn’t on my claiming mark.”
