Page 37 of His Little Devil
I tossed and turned all night. My body still ached from the tease of my fantasy, and I couldn't settle until the early hours of the morning.
Today's going to fucking suck. I have to attend dress fittings and etiquette lessons, and other shit that I just don't want to do.
“No,” I grumble and Luke laughs. The blanket is ripped from me and he smacks my ass, making me moan.
That's not helping, Sir!
“I have to leave for a few hours and deal with some transients that have decided to start a war, but I would like to spend some time with you before I go. So get that cute ass up and have breakfast with me. I won't even make you leave the bed.”
Oh, well, that got my attention. Peeking my eyes open, I notice Luke standing next to the bed with a floating tray.
My stomach growls, and I sigh, rolling over.
“Fine, you may feed me,” I say with a wave, and Luke snorts. My eyes widen and so does his.
I don't think I have ever heard such a noise from the King of Hell before.
“What are you doing to me, Little Devil?” he mumbles and hands me the tray as I sit up against the pillows.
Seriously, this bed is what dreams are made of.
We could fit an entire football team in with us and still have room. Well, maybe not the whole team, but at least half.
Shrugging, I remove the dome and groan at the sight before me. Eggs Benedict, crispy potatoes, bacon, and fresh fruit.
Damn, now, this I could get used to.
Luke sits beside me and I allow him to feed me. I don’t know why he insists on doing this, but I’m not complaining.
“So this war, is it something I need to worry about?” I ask him when he decides to eat too.
“No, just someone who’s upset about me marrying an unknown. They will settle once we are wed and you’re crowned. I’ve been keeping you under lock and key, so to speak, so people are just concerned.”
I nod, that makes sense. “I have my dress fitting today, and Kane wanted to teach me some magic,” I mumble, ignoring the way my hands shake slightly.
“Little Devil, you will be fine. Kane is a great teacher, and I know he will take good care of you in my absence.”
Lifting the fork to my lips once more, I let him finish feeding me until Thimon barges in and tells him it’s time to leave.
“Have a good day, my bride,” he mumbles and presses a quick kiss onto my lips.
When they are both gone, I glance at the clock and grumble. I know he wanted to spend time with me, but it’s not even six in the morning yet.
Making a decision, I move the tray onto his desk, then climb back into bed, grab the remote and turn something mindless on while I take a nap.
“Wow, you look incredible,”Layna mutters as I walk out of the makeshift dressing room in my ‘wedding dress’, if you could call it that.
Seriously, I look like I’m about to walk onto a stage and do a little dance.
“You don’t think it’s a little much? I know that my wardrobe has been different here, but a lot of people will be coming to this event. Shouldn’t I at least wear shorts instead of this lace G-string?”
Layna, Merida, and the dressmaker look at each other, and I can tell they are confused. “Mistress, if you do not like the dress, I can make you another one,” the dressmaker says, and I frown.
“No, it’s lovely. I’m just not used to showing so much skin around other people. You have to remember, I was raised human. We tend to be more… modest… I guess.” Shrugging, she smiles and takes my hand.
“You will be the most glorious bride for our Master. Everyone is so excited about this event. Master has given us a half day so we may all attend,” she gushes, and I have to smile.
Luke may be evil incarnate, but he does have a good heart at times.
