I open my eyes and stand.
“Did you find him?” Jade gasps, but I shake my head.
“No, but I think I know where he is, and it won't be easy.”
“Okay…”
“We have to break into Hell without getting caught.”
“How in the…” Jade is interrupted by a loud blast outside the cottage, shaking the foundation.
“What was that?” she screams and my head begins to throb.
Screaming.Running. Gore. Blood. Hunters.
I come backto the present, on the floor with Clara holding my cheeks, crying.
“They are dead, Arrow. They are all dead.”
CHAPTER TWENTY
SILVER
“Who the fuck are you?” I spit out after walking into the dining room to some sort of intimate breakfast. Michel is laying on the floor next to the table. He lifts his head when he sees me, but Sharla has him on a short leash for some reason.
There’s a pretty woman sitting beside my husband, and she doesn’t seem to know what boundaries are.
Looking over at me, her eyes widen and she gives me a smile, but she’s still touching Luke’s arm.
“Oh, hi, I’m Shayna,” she says and then turns back to talk to Luke, dismissing me.
Oh no, bitch, that’s not going to fly with me. Kane catches me, stopping my spell before I turn the little tramp into a teapot.
Hey, don’t judge me, I was missing Luna, so I watched our favorite childhood movie last night.
Taking my seat beside Luke, I move closer to him and grip his cheeks with my nails, turning his attention to me.
He gives me a quick kiss on the lips, then turns back toher.
Shayna.
Merida brings me my plate, and gives me a smile, but she looks nervous.
Slicing into my omelet, I stab a piece with my fork, then look around. “So, does anyone want to tell me what's going on here?”
Kane coughs, looking at Luke, waiting for him to explain. A soft whimper from beside him has me confused.
“Sorry, I'm sorry. I just can't believe I was almost massacred,” Shayna cries, and Luke pats her on the back.
My limbs begin to tremble, and I'm about to skewer a bitch with this fork. My emotions have been a whirlwind of magma and a tsunami.
Lifting my plate, I chuck it right at the girl's face, then snap my fingers releasing Michel from his tether.
With a mighty roar, he lunges for the food, and Shayna yelps. A bright smile lifts my lips, and I ignore the screams and panic, while enjoying Luke's food.
I don't know who she thinks she is or what happened, but if she touches my man again, a tiger's bite isn't going to be the worst thing she's ever experienced.
Luke's hand clamps onto my neck as he turns my head to face him. His beastie is trying to escape, and I'm so here for it.
