“Did you think I wouldn’t be here for my girl’s big day?”

I looked at him, confused. “But I thought you had a show tonight.”

“I did. I took the first flight out. It’s why I am late,” he said, kissing my lips with the softest caress. He breathed into my mouth, taking it further, pouring all the love he had for me.

Soon we ended up in my bedroom as we danced naked on our sheets, and my entire body shattered in pleasure as he showed me just how much he missed me.

“How was the tour?” I whispered against his chest as I heard his heart beating—a place where I wanted to be forever.

“Pretty good, sweetheart. The crowds were amazing. They seemed to really love us even though we were just an opening act.” Jay smiled, running his fingers through my waves. His favorite thing to do when we lay like this. Deliciously exhausted from our endeavors. I usually fell asleep, but today I was wide awake because I had a ton of coffee. Which I counted as a blessing because I wanted to spend every moment I could with him.

“I can’t wait till you play your own concert.” I grinned. “I want first-row tickets.”

“I want you there for my first concert. Promise me that no matter where you are, you will attend it. I can’t do it without you.” Jay’s eyes were so hopeful as he peered at me.

I knew what he was thinking. College. He thought that I would probably be at Yale by the time he went on his own tour. Yes, I would be in college, but what he didn’t know was that I would be a lot closer to him. But I wasn’t going to tell him now.

“Of course, I will be there cheering as your favorite girl in the whole wide world. I am still your favorite girl, right?” I narrowed my eyes at him playfully.

“Yes, Evelyn Roselyn Sara May, you are still my favorite person in the whole wide world and will always be my favorite person in the whole wide world.” He laughed.

“And you are mine, Emerson Jayden Jameson.” I grinned proudly at him.

I climbed up his body so I could face him, my bare skin all over his. I cuddled closer, propping my elbow on his chest, and peered at him.

“Sweetheart, what are you doing? Are you trying to kill me?” he grunted.

“No, I want to be closer to you so I can talk without straining my neck,” I said, looking him in the eye.

“You are so fucking crazy.” Jay dug his hands deeper into my ass. “If you keep this up, I might not be able to resist you.”

“I wasn’t complaining.” I winked.

“You are going to be the death of me,” he groaned as he flipped me over.

Then he took me for so many rounds that I almost lost count. It was almost pre-dawn when we succumbed to the aftermath of our wild actions.

I was grinning the entire time the next day as Jay and Aunty M helped me pack for L.A. I couldn’t believe it. I was moving out, trying to be a big girl in a big city. Aunty M and I had already shifted most of our things to Liam’s, and she started her new job next week at Seattle General.

It felt kind of sad to be leaving Bellevue, but I knew I could always come back here no matter what. I knew this town would always welcome me.

I popped in at Olivie’s to say goodbye to Martha, who got all teary-eyed when I told her I was leaving and sent me off with two large pies.

I was going to miss Lily, but she promised that she would come to stay with us for a while in L.A. And I knew I was always going to see her because I practically lived with her brother now.

“You ready?” Jay asked as we put the last of my bags into Liam’s car, who was dropping us off at SeaTac.

I sighed, looking at the blue house that held so many memories of me and Jay, us painting the walls pink, us goofing around the kitchen, us watching random TV, and us making love everywhere. Well, except for Aunty M’s bedroom because that would be weird.

Jay hugged me from behind, and I sighed, leaning into him. “I am going to miss this place.”

He kissed my cheek. “When I make enough money, I will buy that house for you, so we can come around anytime to relieve our memories.”

I laughed. “You’re too much.” I took one last look at the house that would always hold a special place in my heart and exhaled a painful breath as I said, “Let’s go.”

Jay and I slid into the backseat.

“You guys ready to go?” Aunty M asked from the passenger seat.
