“You seem to be enjoying L.A.,” Will said, leaning against the counter, making himself a cup.

I shrugged. It wasn’t L.A. I was particularly enjoying. It was Jay. I was enjoying my time with Jay.

“You really love him.” He mused.

I smiled. “Yes. More than anything.”

Will nodded, smiling. “Keep him close. There are a lot more foxes in L.A. than you think. And I am not talking about the band.”

I frowned as I thought about it. I trusted Jay with all my life, but what he said kinda made sense, so I nodded.

An arm snaked around my neck and head-locked me from behind, ruffling up my hair. I groaned. Mikey and Lan loved doing this to me because they didn’t have the guts to face Katy’s wrath if they did this to her. They didn’t bother with Lily because she would give them the death stare. Only poor me had to go through all this. Matt was the only nice guy.

I knew it was Mikey from the fresh sleeve tattoo that he sported.

“Mikey, let me go.” I clawed his hand.

“Oh, you are a wild cat, E.” Mikey laughed, finally letting me go. Not before making a mess of my hair.

Will smiled at us and lifted his chin to Mikey. “Did that girl finally leave you?”

Mikey blew out a breath and let me go. “Whew, finally. That bitch won’t stop screeching in my ears. It wasn’t even worth the fuck.”

It looked like they all had a wild night.

The smell of clean, woodsy sea water invaded my senses as a pair of familiar arms wrapped around me from behind. I sighed happily. My man was here.

“What girl, Mikey?” Jay asked him.

I leaned back into his chest, sipping my coffee.

“Mike got tricked by a redhead who wouldn’t leave him alone at the party last night,” Will explained.

Matt and Lan joined us while the guys chattered among themselves, reminiscing about their shenanigans from last night.

I didn’t listen to a thing because I didn’t care. All I cared about was that I was in Jay’s arms.

I felt someone watching us, and my head snapped toward the breakfast table where Cece and Katy were chatting.

White was looking at Jay with a grim look on her face, which soon transformed in a second when she noticed I was looking at her. She gave me a warm smile that did not reach her eyes.

She slipped back into the conversation with Katy as if nothing had happened. Okay, she was definitely weird. And she had her eyes on my man, which I definitely did not like.

My eyes widened when I saw Dec behind her snorting some white powder up his nose and Tay rolling up something green on what looked like cigarette paper.

Wow, I guess they were really living their rockstar lives. In L.A., underage drinking, sex, drugs, and scandals didn’t matter.

“Don’t mind them,” Jay whispered in my ear. “It’s like that here, but they are good people.”

I nodded. I really didn’t care as long as they did not bother me.

I smiled as I thought I hadn’t asked him my favorite question today, “Who is your favorite person in the whole wide world, Jay?” I whispered in his ears so no one could hear us.

“You,” he said, lifting me up. “Excuse us, guys,” he muttered, carrying me out of the room to show me exactly who was his favorite person in the whole wide world.

I blushed scarlet the entire time.

But later that day, I couldn’t help thinking about the expression on White’s face when Jay whisked me away. It looked like she swallowed something bad. It looked like she didn’t like it one bit.
