She nodded and blinked her eyes, trying to clear the tears from them.

“Like I said, I’m here alone. Let her go. Let her take my bike and get out of here.”

I turned my attention back to the man holding her. And he started to laugh.

“And you fucking believed it too. What a dumbass. She’s not going anywhere until I have you beaten, tied up, and going to the VP to enjoy. And she’s going to stick around to make sure you comply until that point. And once you’re bleeding out, that’s when I’ll ask the VP if I should let her go or if he wants some company for tonight.” He sneered at me.

Rosalie tipped her head up to look at him, and he glanced down. “Sorry, girl. Had to lie to you to make you more agreeable. Letting you go is not up to me.”

I was just about to say the word to Wilder when I heard another street bike pulling up behind me. FUCK! Did they ride out early? I wasn’t ready for them to pull in. But when I turned, I saw it wasn’t any of them; it was Mack. He must have listened in, the fucker. But why didn’t he follow the plan? I knew he was a moron, but didn’t know he was this big of a moron. He pulled to a stop next to me and hopped off his bike.

“What the fuck are you doing here, Mack?” I snapped, looking back at him.

“Thought you might need backup, seeing as this was taking a while,” he replied, looking at me, pulling out a large automatic rifle from his bike’s holster.

I grabbed my semi-auto SMG from my back and aimed it at their sergeant.

“I won’t say no since they changed the GAME PLAN up,” I said loudly enough for everyone to hear.

“On our way, VP!” Wilder’s voice called out, and then the line went dead.

“You sure you wanna aim a gun at me? I have your girl in my arms, so if I pull the trigger, she will be dead before you can fire a shot off.”

He tugged her in front of him. She tried to say something, but her words were stifled by the gag. I just knew she looked back at me with such fear in those pretty blue eyes of hers.

“Don’t worry, mama. Be strong for me.”

My mind raced. How were we going to get her away safely before my guys showed up and a firefight ensued? If I charged him, then I could maybe knock her down and out of the range of most of the bullets. She was smart, and she would move to the cover of the building next to her, right? It might be the best option. That, or risk shooting him and when his body fell on top of hers, at least she would have a meat shield to protect her.

“Let’s charge him,” I muttered to Mack, knowing only he should be able to hear me.

I heard him take a few steps closer behind me. That could work. Even if I got shot once, he should still be able to reach her. Rosalie started to struggle harder, and then I finally knew why. It wasn’t that she was afraid for herself. No. She was trying to warn me.

“Actually, Enforcer, I have a different idea.” The smirk in his voice was all too visible to me as I felt cold steel at the back of my neck in the space between my helmet and jacket, and my body tensed as I heard his laugh. “Why don’t you drop your SMG for me and put your hands in the air while you still can?”

It all made sense now. Why Rosalie had been taken. How the letter had gotten on our door without raising any suspicion at the clubhouse.

“You’re the fucking rat?!” I growled. I couldn’t believe it. But I dropped my weapon with a clatter to the ground and slowly raised my hands.

“The fact that you never knew, fuck, that makes me smile.” I felt a hand reach under my chin and roughly rip my strap loose. He yanked my helmet up and off my head, threw it to the ground, and moved the barrel to the middle of the back of my head and pushed. “WALK. Don’t be shy now.”

I took slow steps around my bike until I was a couple of feet from my girl. I looked at her eyes. She was crying and fighting against her captor’s hold again. Her nose was running as her body was moving side to side in his arms. She had known. She had tried to warn me. That was why she had been gagged. Fuck, I’d never expected this. I needed to think and FAST.

“Hey,mamacita, look at me. Take some deep breaths. You’re going to be out of here soon. I’m sorry you got dragged into this, but I’ll get you out. I promise.” I meant it even if I had zero fucking ideas how I was going to make it happen.

Mack’s voice chuckled menacingly behind me. “Sure, sure, tell her what you want, it’s not going to matter. Oh, and you won’t be needing this anymore.” I felt him roughly grab the pistol under my jacket and toss it across to one of the guys by the trucks. “By the way, about two dozen men are about to roll down this road, fully armed. I suggest you get ready.”

He was selling out the clubhouse! Not just me.This piece of fucking shit!

I turned my face and glared at him.

“What? I can’t have anyone knowing how involved I was in this little plan, and since you pulled the clubhouse into it, all of their deaths are on your head, not mine. And when Damienis drinking her sorrows away about losing you and the road captain, I’ll step in and take good care of her as I become the rightful vice president. Don’t you worry.” He laughed. “Oh, fuck, this is such a better moment than I thought it would be. God, the look on your face has made these past months of hell worth it.”

The man holding Rosalie nodded to the trucks behind us, and they started up and moved their semicircle to the other side of our bikes, forming a blockade between the BLVD Riders coming and us.

“I can’t wait to see what way their president is going to take his revenge on you. I hope it’s slow and excruciating… You know, I don’t know who’s going to get it worse—you or your girl. As much as I want to fuck her myself right now, I bet what he has in store later will be much more deranged than anything I have in mind.” Mack pushed me along with his gun sharply pressed into my back.

All of us walked about forty more feet toward the barn, and one of the remaining guys ran into the barn, bringing out some rope.
