A hungry growl rumbled through him, the vibrations tightening that delicious tension building between my thighs further.

“So fucking sweet,” Hades breathed, positioning my heels over his shoulders before cupping my ass. This time when he tasted me, it was punishing. He fucked my pussy with his tongue, using his thumbs to part me further as he tasted all of me. As he savored every sweep of his tongue. And then his fingers were there, stretching me as his tongue flicked across my clit.

“Oh gods,” I panted, grinding against his face.

“I’m the only god you'll ever need, Persephone.” A third finger joined, the pain of the stretch only adding to my mounting ecstasy. “Who does this body belong to?”

“You,” I moaned.

“Me,” he growled, the heat of his breath fanning across my pussy as his fingers pumped. I was so close. Hades moved from my pussy to my breasts, pushing the edges of my gown aside until his mouth closed around my nipples, one and then the other.

“Hades, please,” I begged, staring down at the god ravaging my body. His wings had manifested, tucking in close behindhim, but there was no hiding the spiraling ram horns or his black eyes. He was a beast, everything I had been taught to hate. And I craved him all the more for it.

“You’re so fucking beautiful when you beg.” I whimpered as the pace of his fingers increased, as he lowered himself between my legs once more. “Now, be a good girl and come for me.”

His mouth closed over my clit, sucking just as his fingers curled. My hips undulated against him as I gripped his horns, the orgasm tearing through me. Electricity sparked from my fingertips, and I could feel it weaving into both of us, connecting us further. A rush of desire, heat, and an aching devotion flooded through my veins, prolonging the waves of pleasure rocking through my center.

“This is what you do to me, little witch.”

His fingers eased through the last of the aftershocks as my mind slowly drifted back to my spent body. He gathered me to him, pressing tender kisses to my chest, my neck, to every inch of my body, as if he were reassuring himself that I was here.

“I love you, Persephone. You’ve taken all that I once was and changed it forever.” He cupped my cheek, the pad of his thumb tracing the splash of freckles there. “The world above may burn. The realms could splinter and fall, and still my soul would find yours. In each life. In every rebirth. Until the end of time, I will love you.”

Tears pricked the corners of my eyes as I felt something in my chest lock into place. The beating of my heart matched his, the pulse humming in his chest beneath my fingertips now in perfect harmony with my own.

“I love you,” I breathed, needing to say the words out loud. Our heartbeats skipped, causing his lips to tug into a sheepish grin still coated in my come. I watched fascinated as the black of his eyes gave way to cerulean blue. His ram horns and wingsfaded from view and still he held me as I stared, marveling at what fate had orchestrated for us. “Until the end of time.”

HADES

“Are you ready?”I asked, looking down at Persephone poised on my arm. The makeshift crown had remained in place through everything we’d just done, a promise of what was to come. Her skin was flushed, the scent of me clinging to her even now. I felt our threads link, sensed the moment when she realized we were more than pawns in fate’s game. Our souls were two halves of a whole, the frayed, battered shards finally starting to mend.

Fuck everything else. I wanted to take her to my bed and sink into her needy pussy. To bend and fuck, to take her in every way imaginable and then do it all again. But my little witch was vulnerable until she was fully awakened, and her safety was the one thing I wouldn’t risk.

Morpheus had warned Thanatos and me about his father. I had no doubt Hypnos was here, sniffing out any weaknesses he could exploit. It was best not to give him one.

“Yes,” she answered, her gaze moving from the set of double doors before us to me. “Are you? You look ready to murder someone.”

“If only,” I muttered. “There are some who would like nothing more than to see me fail.”

“Us,” Persephone corrected, her fingers weaving with mine. My eyes widened as a surprised smile stretched across my face.

“Us?”

She nodded. “Do we have anything to be concerned with?”

My spine stiffened reflexively. Morpheus had all but confirmed Hypnos was the one responsible for the spell that had left me weak upon returning to The Underworld. Hecate suspected that the only reason I’d survived was because of Persephone. Her magic had weakened whatever spell he had cast. He was definitely one to be concerned with, but Persephone and I would be wed and bonded tomorrow, and my little witch awakened when the hour struck midnight. Judging by how late it was, we had a little over twenty-four hours before all threats were nullified.

“Nothing to worry about,” I reassured her, leading us through the doors before she could think to ask why I didn’t meet her eyes.

Persephone

I cleanedup as best I could but there was no disguising the scent of me still clinging to Hades or the way subtle traces of frost and darkness hovered around me. It was more than what we’d done physically, too. It felt like our threads had started the joining process, the first few pieces locking into place when we’d spoken of our feelings. Of our love.

Hades loved me. And I loved him. Tomorrow, I’d be his wife and the full might of my magic would manifest. There was nothing to worry about, but I couldn’t help but sense that something was off.

Hades led me through the double doors, bringing us to the edge of the throne room filled with dancing couples. Therewere a number of creatures, from winged harpies to beautiful gorgons, and I swore I spotted a group of centaurs in the fields beyond the windows. Beaded gowns and precious stones glittered in the candlelight, separated from the group of dark wings and shadows at the far end. Everything stilled upon our entry. The music halted and conversation quieted as each being dropped into a low bow.
