“That was…” I begin, but he shushes me with a gentle finger against my lips.
“We are one now.” He wipes a stray strand of hair from my face, tucking it behind my ear. “I love you, Alex. I always will. That love bite… it didn’t hurt too much, did it?”
“Love bite?” I laugh as I cup his face.
He takes my hand and touches it to my neck. The skin feels unbroken. There’s no blood.
“I’m… I’m a werewolf now?”
“You’ll turn tonight for the first time.”
“Does it hurt?”
“It gets easier with each shifting.”
“I should be afraid, but I’m not.”
“Good,” he whispers, and he kisses me long and hard, and I sigh against his lips.

Jake
“Alex,”I whisper, gently brushing a strand of hair from her face. “How are you feeling?”
She looks up at me, her eyes filled with a mixture of awe and love. “It’s… a lot to take in, but I can feel it, Jake. The bond. It’s incredible.”
I nod, holding her close. “I know. It’s a powerful thing. Now, we’re truly connected. I promise I’ll always be here for you, Alex. No matter what happens.”
She smiles weakly, leaning into my embrace. “I trust you, Jake.”
As I hold her, I feel a deep sense of responsibility and devotion. No harm will come to her as long as I’m around.
“I swear, Alex,” I say, my voice firm with conviction. “I will always be there for you. I’ll always stand by your side. You’ll never face anything alone.”
She closes her eyes, resting her head against my chest. “I’ll be there for you too.”
Soon, I can feel the impending transformation stirring within Alex. The connection we now share allows me to sense her anxiety and the changes her body is about to undergo. I know this first transition will be challenging, but I’m determined to help her through it.
“Alex,” I say gently, lifting her in my arms. “We need to get you somewhere safe for your first transition. The basement of the bar is secure, and no one will disturb us there.”
She nods weakly, trust evident in her eyes. “Okay, Jake. I trust you.”
I carry her carefully to the basement, navigating the dimly lit corridors with ease. The basement is a safe haven, fortified to withstand the powerful forces of a werewolf’s transformation. Once we’re inside, I lay her down on a soft, padded surface, designed for comfort during these difficult moments.
“The transition is going to be intense,” I explain, holding her hand. “But I’m here with you every step of the way. Focus on me, and we’ll get through this together.”
Alex nods, her eyes filled with determination. “I’m ready, Jake. Just don’t leave me.”
“Never,” I promise, squeezing her hand. “I’ll be right here.”
The first signs of the transformation begin to show as her body tenses and contorts, the pain evident on her face. I stay close, offering soothing words and gentle touches, hoping to ease her suffering. As the transformation takes hold, her human form shifts into that of a beautiful wolf, her fur a striking blend of shades that reflect her inner strength and spirit.
Once her transformation is complete, I shift into my wolf form, feeling the familiar surge of power and instincts. I approach her cautiously, knowing that this first experience can be overwhelming. Her eyes meet mine, filled with a mixture of confusion and fear.
I nuzzle her gently, a soft whine escaping my throat as I try to comfort her. She responds tentatively at first then more confidently. My presence seems to calm her, and she begins to relax, her body settling into its new form.
I continue to nuzzle her, offering comfort and reassurance. Our bond is stronger now, and I can feel her emotions more clearly—her fear, her confusion, but also her trust and love for me. I stay close, letting her know she’s not alone.
