I growled and turned on my heel, leaving a laughing Pakhan behind me. It didn’t take me too long to stalk mymalen'kiy angeldown to the garden. I thought Tiffany would be outside, but Isadora was alone for the first time in a while.
“There you are.” I breathed in her scent as soon as I got close to her.
She was sitting in the dirt, and I sank down right beside her, not giving her any room to breathe. “Here I am.” She hummed a small tune, tapping a flower in front of her.
“Aren’t all these plants poisonous?” I looked around us suspiciously, not recognizing all the flora in front of me.
“Tiffany is teaching me the differences between the plants in my downtime. So I’d know what was safe and what was not,” Isadora murmured.
“I don’t have any pressing business. I’m going to take you out to lunch. Are you up for it?”
Isadora paused, thinking over my invitation. “I could try to eat lunch with you.”
I was glad she agreed. It’s not like she had an option to begin with. I sat with her in the garden a bit longer, since it wasn’t quite lunchtime. “Do you like planting flowers?”
“Not really. I think sitting in the garden is soothing, maybe with a good book, but planting flowers wouldn’t bring me joy. I really only do it to have company, since Tiffany is so into it.” She blushed.
“Have you met Sloane?” I hadn’t seen her around, but she had a new infant to take care of, so that wasn’t surprising.
Isadora shook her head. “I’m sure I’ll run into her at some point. I just don’t have the energy to go introduce myself.”
I frowned at her. I’d noticed that my wife-to-be had been tired all the time. I thought it was due to what she was rescued from. But maybe it was more. I didn’t enjoy thinking that my fiancée’s body was choosing to be hormonally imbalanced.
Isadora’s stomach growled before I could bring up her moods.
I helped her up and brushed the dirt off her juicy ass.
We headed inside and I escorted her to her bedroom. “I’m just going to freshen up and change,” Isadora murmured.
I held onto her hand, until it was physically impossible to do so, as she walked away. Her icy demeanor didn’t turn me off. It fueled me.
I waited in her room as she ran the water in the bathroom. She stepped out a short while later and headed for the closet. A little while after all the rummaging I heard coming from the closet, she came out.
Her beauty knew no bounds. The white patches in her hair were pulled to frame her heart-shaped face. Her dark skin gleamed under the light, as she wore the sunniest yellow dress in her closet, with a small kitten heel. She had a small handbag in her arms, and shot me a tiny smile.
“Goddamn, malen'kiy angel,”I groaned. “You are going to have me commiting murder today protecting this fine ass.”
I trailed after her like she had me under a spell.
“Benedikt, no one would even look twice at me,” she giggled, deprecatingly.
I grabbed her face in my hands and kissed the ever-loving shit out of her. “Don’t speak badly about my future wife,” I growled against her lips. “Let’s head out.” I grabbed her hand and helped her out the door, since she was still a little kiss drunk.
Yeah, she was going to make an amazing wife and, I bet, an even better mother. All in good time. Soon.
CHAPTER TEN
Benedikt was acting suspiciously. I knew I didn’t trust men, but when one acted obsessed with me, I took notice. I put on the yellow sundress, and he made me feel beautiful. He held my hand all the way into the stretch limo. We stayed cuddled together until we pulled onto the tarmac.
“I thought you were taking me to lunch.” I nervously looked around us, as Benedikt helped me out of the vehicle.
“I am.” He escorted me onto the plane. “I never said it was going to be in this country.”
“Oh.” Surprised, I looked around the luxurious plane.
He escorted me to our seats. They were white and looked expensive, for sure. I sank into my chair and it was an experience. The seat cupped my butt, and really hugged my body in all the right ways, which was relaxing.
“Do you want to be surprised about where we are going?” Benedikt asked.
