He groans pathetically. I start to reach for the baton. Instantly, he starts to nod eagerly.

“Were you planning on killing my wife, as well?”

His head goes up and down as tears well in his stricken eyes. A low, savage growl rumbles in my chest.

“Did you set fire to my home, seven years ago, resulting in the death of Cassandra Ashford?”

He nods.

My jaw ticks.

“I’m going to ask you again. If you fucking lie to me, I’m going to kill you right here in this room.

He chokes out a sob.

“Did you burn Cassandra to death.”

Anguish spreads across his face as he sobs.

Nodding.

My lips pull back, my teeth flashing demonically as I move closer to him.

“Did you kill Matilde Laurent at her summer house?”

His head nods again, his eyes quivering with fear.

Fuck.

I stumble back, my pulse thudding in my chest as my head reels.

“Were you hired to do either of those things?” I hiss.

He whimpers, shaking his head.

“Let me ask youagain,” I snarl, surging towards him, making him flinch back, the chains at his wrists jangling.

“Did someone hire you to kill those two women.”

And again, he shakes his head.

Rage clouds my vision.

No, fuck this. Iknowit was Prince. He had the motive, we have his plane touching down in Milan, only to secretly fly back to London for a handful of hours, then fly back to Italy. There’s the fucking psychiatric diagnosis, for God’s sake—that he exhibits psychopathic tendencies. A “callous disregard for human life or suffering.” Pyromaniacal fascination.

Jon groans in pain as I grab the collar of shirt, yanking him into me.

“Boss—”

“Did Oliver fucking Prince hire you to kill—!”

“Noel!”

I roar as Liam grabs me, yanking me away from Jon and shoving me against the wall. I hiss, balling my hands into fists.

“Enough, Noel!” Liam shouts, shaking the red mist from my eyes.

He swallows.
