This catches me off guard. Did he really just ask me that?
Confused, I question, “Are you serious?”
He runs his fingers through his semi-shaggy blonde hair and replies, “I can’t stop thinking about her. I thought I would never see her again. There she was in the food court, talking with your piece.”
“What the hell happened with her that night?”
“I told you, we connected.”
“You’re such a woman.”
“Why is that? Because I express that I like someone?” he asks annoyedly.
“Uhh. I’m just saying, you have only been with this woman one time, and you act like you’re in love.”
“What if I am?”
He’s being serious. This is unlike my friend. He’s logical and scientific. He is all about the facts and the process of getting to those facts.
I finally answer his question, “I’ll do what I can to make Kandace happen for you. Give me some time.”
He raises his beer and we cheers. He states, “Thank you!”
The subject is changed. The group starts talking about our next Pint-a-thon on our bikes.
