“Nice sign, by the way.” My arms cross defensively as I tip my head toward the red letters—that don’t even have a scratch from my attack.
I can still change that.Maybe after dark.
“I thought you might like it.”
“Take it down!”
“Go on a date with me.”
“I’d rather suck the poison out of a rattlesnake bite on someone’s ass than go on a date with you after this little stunt.”
“So…that’s a no?” He reaches down to pick up his tools.
“That’s a hell no.” He looks at the sign, then back to where I’m standing next to the fence on his side of the driveway.
“Then get off my property…darlin’.” He doesn’t give me a chance to reply before sauntering away like he owns the place. And I want to scream, because…well, he does.
