He wasn’t paying a bit of attention when Colleen turned around and slammed right into his chest.His phone crashed to the ground.Without thinking, he grabbed her arms to keep her from falling.
“Whoa, now.You okay?”
She looked up at him, eyes wide.He’d never gotten close enough to her to notice the color of them.They were sapphire blue with a dark ring of navy circling the outside.He had never seen eyes her color.They were breathtaking.
“Do you wear contacts?”he asked her.Great.Now he probably offended her even more.
“No,” she said.“They’re natural.”
“Well, they’re beautiful.”
Colleen shrugged out of his arms.“I forgot my purse.”
Okay.Not quite the response he had anticipated.But at least she didn’t call him a name or completely ignore him.He’d tally that in the win column.
Grabbing her purse off the table by the recliner where she had been sitting, she ignored the pointed looks her friends were giving her.Making sure to take a wide curve around him so she wouldn’t run into him again, she headed out the door.Again, Brant was left wondering what he had done to offend her.And, oddly enough, he had the desire to patronize her shop next time he needed a haircut.
