"Stuck?" he echoed in bewilderment. "How are you stuck?"

"I don't know. Just try to relax, okay?"

"I am," he gritted out. It was the closest he'd ever come to snapping at me. A shudder ran down his spine, which wasn't helping me get soft anytime soon. "You're too big."

Yeah, definitely the wrong time for that to stroke my ego. "I think something's wrong," I said, realizing I was going to have to face the impossible because nothing else made any fucking sense. As tight as he was, that wasn't enough to explain the fact that I literally couldn't pull out of him.

"What?" he asked breathlessly.

"I think I knotted you."

As soon as the words were out of my mouth, I regretted them, even if nothing else arose to take their place as a possible explanation.

"You what?" he choked out. "How is that possible?"

"I don't know," I said through my teeth.

"What do we do?" he asked, panic edging into his voice.

"Just hold still and try to relax," I said, grimacing when that had the effect of making him clench down harder.

"I'm trying," he said, burying his face in the floor. At least the wound on his neck was starting to heal. If nothing else, the whole knot thing had taken his mind off it.

Trying or not, he was still impossibly tight, but I finally realized that was as good as it was going to get and made another attempt to ease out of him. When he let out another ear-piercing shriek, I froze.

"Stop!" he gasped, squirming against me in a full-blown panic.

"I'm not moving," I assured him, pressing a hand against his stomach to keep him still. "Easy. You'll hurt yourself."

He relaxed slightly and stopped struggling. His fingers dug into the tiled floor, and he made another soft crying sound. "Maybe it's because you're still hard. Can you try going soft?"

"Yeah, I'll get right on that," I said flatly. He flipped me off, and I couldn't help but chuckle a little. "I'm at least going to roll over so you're more comfortable, alright?"

"I don't know," he murmured.

"I'll be gentle," I promised, even though I wouldn't have blamed him for not wanting to take my word on that. He nodded, so I carefully adjusted us both so we were on our sides. He groaned, and I wrapped my arms around him, burying my face in his neck again. Probably not the smartest idea, but it was a newly dominant impulse.

"You said my scent was different," he said after a few moments. "Do you think the wolf bite...?"

"I don't know what else to think," I admitted, absently stroking his side.

"It could be the infusions," he said, a hopeful lilt in his tone.

"I don't know of any other hunter who's developed a knot or bitten someone after a single infusion," I muttered.

He swallowed audibly and snuggled back into me. "It's okay. Whatever's going on, we'll figure it out."

"Yeah," I said hoarsely.

Part of me wasn't sure I wanted to.

I wasn'tsure when I'd fallen asleep or how long it had been, but when I came to, I didn't feel the same throbbing pressure at the base of my cock. I was still buried in Eddie's tight ass, but I managed to ease out of him while eliciting only the faintest groan.

"It's okay," I said, stroking his hair. His skin felt like a normal temperature again. He was always a bit warm, but he wasn't burning up, and the difference between us seemed less than usual, which was probably further confirmation that something was going on with me. "Just stay here. I'll be right back."

He mumbled some unintelligible protest, rolled over, and went back to sleep. I looked down at my hands, and they were normal. No claws or anything else that shouldn't have been there, but my cock looked normal, too, so that meant jack all. I tabled my bewilderment for the time being, got dressed, and left the training room to grab a robe for Eddie to wear since I had shredded his clothes.
