“What’s your confession?”

“I’m falling out of love with my profession.”

Cash turned on the Jeep and backed out of the drive before saying anything.

“Do you think it’s because of the headache your ex has caused?”

I shrugged. “I don’t know. I’d always liked the idea of helping people.”

Cash nodded.

“And coming up with the idea about online therapy was a bonus. The industry has exploded, and I’m always getting offers for my company.”

“Well, you’ve always impressed me, but wow. That’s incredible.”

“I always thought no way would I sell. I want to build the company and watch it grow.”

Cash nodded. “And now?”

I shook my head. “Selling is kind of appealing.”

“Don’t let Rob steal the joy that your company has always given you.”

I smiled at Cash and nodded. “You’re right. I know. I’d give it time before I did anything crazy.”

“You should be so proud of what you’ve accomplished, and you’re not even forty.”

I rubbed Chewie and let out a wistful sigh. “You too.”

“Except that I’m forty.”

I snorted. “That’s right. You’re about to sign up for AARP.”

“Hey, now,” he teased. “Just a few more years, and I’ll get to tease you too. Better watch out.”

Complete happiness drifted through me as we drove to Cash’s house.

“I’m excited to go glamping,” I told him as we pulled into his drive.

“Is that what it’s called?”

I stared at the mammoth trailer in front of us and chuckled. “Definitely glamping.”

“Wait until you see the granite countertops.”

“You’re kidding.”

He smiled and shook his head as he pulled in front of his garage.

As we climbed out of the Jeep, Cash grabbed my bag, and a car turned into his drive.

“Hunter’s here.”

Nerves shot through me as I watched the car slow down, and two figures sat in the front seat.

“I can’t remember who he said he was bringing, but he said they weren’t serious.”

“Good to know.”
