A smirk gets thrown in my direction before he answers. “No. I tried at the park and at the museum, but she didn’t say anything else.”

“It will happen. We just have to give it time.” I tell him after swallowing down my food. I am a little disappointed that she didn’t say more, but Alessandra will speak when she wants to speak.

Dante gives me a nod before finishing up his food and standing from the table.

“Can you take her to school? My meeting starts in half an hour, and I can’t be late.” He says, grabbing his suit jacket from behind his chair and sliding it on.

The second his jacket is on and the button in clasp, I swear my mouth starts to water.

There is something absolutely sexy when a man wears a suit, especially a well-tailored one, but with Dante Rosetti, it’s as if that sexiness is on a different level.

Everything about it, about him, is perfect and now that I know what is under the suit, I just want to peal it off him and lick him all over.

Okay, not thoughts I should be having with the kids around.

I try to rein in the tingling that is happening between my legs and watch as Dante says bye to the kids before grabbing his phone and walking over to me.

His eyes are on me the whole time as he closes the distance between us, and the whole time I have to keep my nerves at bay.

When he reaches me, he leans down placing one hand on the table and the other at the back of my chair, his lips to my ear.

“When I get back, you and me are going to talk about what happened last night.” He says, before pulling away and walking out of the room.

All the while, leaving me a big puddle of mush right where I’m sitting.

What there is to talk about, I’m not sure.

I just know whatever it is, I sure as hell won’t be prepared for it.

“Who the fuck calls a meeting so damn early in the day?” Lorenzo groans from the seat next to me as we make our way into downtown.

Lorenzo Romano may be my second in command and the underboss that likes to get his hands overly dirty, but he sure as hell doesn’t like mornings. Anything before noon is too early for him.

Which is why I usually start my days around four in the morning, because the asshole leaves the mess from the night before for me to clean up.

I’m honestly surprised that he’s even awake.

“People that actually want to get shit done.” I mutter out, not even looking up from my phone to do it.

“I get shit done. If I didn’t, you would have killed me a long time ago.”

I should kill him now but what would be the fun in that if I will have to take over all his work.

A grunt releases from my mouth in agreement and for a while, I think he went back to sleep when he speaks again.

“What’s this meeting about anyway?” He asks.

“I have no idea. All I was told was that he was calling a meeting and for you to come.”

The last time I was called into a meeting like this was about three months after Angelina died. At the time it was about the famiglia because it was getting out of control, and I wasn’t doing a thing about it.

Nothing like that I currently going on, so I’m stumped.

“Did you get the info that I asked for?” I say, changing the subject.

Right away, Lorenzo is on high alert, completely forgetting his dislike for mornings.
