He gives me a nod. “From the looks of things, Gallo is trying to lay low, hardly leaving the building where the laundromat is. As for his bank account, my guy tells me that it’s been stale, the only activity coming a few weeks ago. A wire transfer of five thousand dollar. He’s working on getting me the information of the account that sent it. The way I see it, the guy is trying to turn into a ghost.”

Ever since I took over of the Falcone famiglia and made it my own, Gallo has been a thorn in my side that won’t die. The fucker wants my seat at the table and will try anything to get it.

Him not leaving the sole building he owns in the city could be nothing, but I don’t know that for sure. For all I know, Gallo and his small number of men could be thinking up ways to poison me.

“Anybody suspicious showing up to do laundry?”

Lorenzo shakes his head. “Other than your girl? No. But I got more eyes on the building and at his house. Someone comes over, we’ll know.”

After Bruno showed me the picture of Arianna, I got a call from Lorenzo. I guess news traveled fast as to where my nanny was spotted.

He chewed my ass out about hiring untrustworthy people. I didn’t argue with him.

“Did you take care of that?” He asks me, for sure an eyebrow raising in the process.

“Yes.” I grunt out.

“Really? That’s odd, because I was sure I would have gotten a call to get rid of the body.”

This fucker.

I sigh because a few years ago, I would have done just that. I would have taken care of Arianna by killing her and calling Lorenzo to get rid of her, leaving no trace.

But now, now that thought didn’t even cross my mind.

Was I pissed? Abso-fucking-lutely but when I heared her explanation, the anger decreased.

“You’re fucking her, aren’t you?” Lorenzo muses.

I hate this man sometimes.

I face my second in command. “I took care of it. I don’t have to fucking tell you how, you nosy fucker.”

“Touchy,” he says giving me a smirk, before turning away to face the window. I think the subject is dropped when he turns to face me again. “Her pussy was good, wasn’t it?”

“I’m going to fucking kill you when we get off this car.”

“I would like to see you try.” The fucker winks at me before letting out a chuckle and leaning his head back and trying to sleep for the remainder of the car ride.

Twenty minutes later, we’re arriving at an address in the financial district.

The streets are filled with people in business suits hustling to get to work, so our presence goes unnoticed.

Lorenzo and I walk into the building that has the word Lane on all the glass windows.

The lobby is surprisingly empty besides a few security guards

The guards at the front desk look up and are about to stand up as we approach it, when they are stopped by a female voice.

“They are cleared to come up,” the voice announces.

From the corner of my eye, I see the figure approaching and when I turn, I’m greeted by a beautiful smile.

“Ella.” I say, greeting the beautiful woman by placing a small kiss on her cheek. “I’m surprised that he let you come down here to greet me instead of one of his assistants. I must be special.”

Ella gives me a smile, one that I’m sure has one man falling to his feet constantly. How Ella Vincent settled for a man like that, I have no idea. She’s way above his pay grade.

“I volunteered, I didn't want you brawling with one of them and staining my new floors with blood.”
