“Still a pain in the ass, Brooke,” he sneered. “You, Tildie, and the brat are going back to the Fire Dragons where you belong,” he said, pointing a gun straight at my head. Cross looked behind me and ordered the men standing there, “Get the kid and Tildie. I will handle Brooke.”

I could hear Gael crying as he was picked up. “Don’t you dare hurt my son,” I snarled.

“Well, Brooke, that’ll depend on you. You cooperate, and I don’t touch a hair on the brat’s head. Now move and get in the van,” Cross ordered, giving me a shove.

I did as Cross said. I knew from experience he would hurt Gael and maybe even Tildie since Mouth wasn’t around. There wasn’t a line Cross wouldn’t step over if he wanted something bad enough. So I got in the van, sat next to Tildie, and pulled Gael onto my lap, hugging him to me.

Cross sat across from us, his mouth twisted in disgust. “I can’t believe my flesh and blood became whores to Devil’s House trash. Tildie, I can understand being deaf and dumb, but you, Brooke…you, I thought was smarter. I shouldn’t have to remind you that they killed our old man. How could you fuck one of them? Flex is waiting on you to knock some sense back into you, remind you who you belong to.”

I wanted to tell him to jump straight into hell, but I had to think of Gael and Tildie. So I just glared at him, keeping my mouth shut. I had no doubt Travis would alert Lenny that something happened when Tildie didn’t answer him since she had been texting him when we wrecked.

I just hope it doesn’t take too long.

I PULLED MYrubber gloves off with a snapthrowing them in the trash and finishing my last tattoo of the day. A simple butterfly tattoo on the lower back for a girl who looked barely out of high school. Typical for that age group. Usually, I leave the simple jobs to Gerri, but she was out today. I walked up front and locked the door, anxious to get back to the clubhouse to see Brooke. It’s amazing how she and Gael have become the most important part of my life in just a short time.

I turned off the lights and headed out the back door, making sure it was locked. Lord and the guys had finished the apartment earlier today, so now we could move in. It’s gonna feel weird living somewhere other than the clubhouse. It’s all I’ve known since I was eighteen. But it’s time to move on and start a family alongside my brothers.

I straddled my bike and reached for my helmet when my phone vibrated. I saw it was Reader. “Yo,” I answered.

“Is Brooke there with you?”

“No. As far as I know, she’s at the clubhouse,” I said, already getting a sinking feeling in my gut.

“Something’s wrong, Stonewall, Tildie was texting me while she, Brooke, and Gael were on their way to the store, and then mid-conversation, Tildie went silent. She’s not answering me. And Johnny says they left and haven’t returned.” I could hear the panic in his voice. Fuck, Brooke was supposed to text me when she left. I always put a prospect to watch her.

“Fuck! I’m heading back to the clubhouse. Maybe they broke down along the road or something.” I knew that was unlikely, but it made me feel better. “We need Kickstand. I will meet you there,” I said, hanging up and peeling out of the alley.

I watched the side of the road, and finally, one mile from the club, I saw Shadow signaling me by the roadside. I started to panic, wondering what I would find when I stopped.

I pulled over, swinging my legs over the seat, and hurrying to where Shadow stood. “What is it?” I demanded, looking to the side, and there sat my Jeep smashed into a tree. I started over the hill.

“It’s empty, Stonewall,” Shadow said, grabbing me by my arm. “The back tire was shot out. They’ve been taken.”

I continued down over the embankment looking inside and seeing blood on the passenger side. Brooke’s purse was thrown in the back, along with Tildie’s cell phone. I grabbed both. I had to stay calm and think about things clearly.

But, this was my woman, and I consider Gael mine too. So, how am I supposed to keep a clear head and not lose my shit?

“Let’s head back to the clubhouse. Fuse has Yankee coming to tow the Jeep. We can’t do anything here,” Shadow said, putting a hand on my shoulder. “We’ll find them, don’t worry.

I took a heavy breath and followed Shadow up the hill, straddling my bike once more. I pulled out behind Shadow and followed him back to the club. Reader, Viking, and Vampire not far behind.

As a group, we headed into the chapel where Kickstand, Fuse, King, and Moreno already sat. It was time to put our heads together and find them.

CHAPTER NINETEEN

WE DIDN’T GOfar before the van stopped.Cross must be hiding out not too far from the club. The van door opened, and Goose stood there sneering at us. “You girlie’s done fucked up.”

“Get out of the van,” Cross snarled at me. I lifted Gael and moved us out of the van, with Tildie following. Goose grabbed me by the arm, jerking me forward away from Gael and Tildie. “Be good, and I’ll let Tildie care for your brat. But, I can’t have you together, you cause any trouble, and Gael will suffer.”

I slumped my shoulders in defeat and let Goose drag me inside an old house surrounded by forest. I was pushed inside, where at least ten Fire Dragons sat on couches drinking with several naked women entertaining them. “Well, well, well…if it isn’t my old lady turned whore,” Flex snarled from behind me.

Goose turned me to face Flex, who had a naked blonde hanging off him. “I didn’t know you had an old lady, Flex,” the blonde said in a childish voice, raking her hands down his chest. She thought I cared and was staking her claim.

Flex pulled the blonde in front of him, cupping her breasts and kissing her neck. I knew Flex wanted me to be jealous because his pride was hurting since I was with Lenny. It’s not that he cared. And I certainly didn’t give a shit who he was with as long as it wasn’t me.

“I got stuck with her. She don’t mean shit, baby,” he told the giggling woman narrowing his eyes at me when he didn’t get a reaction. He growled, throwing the woman aside, causing her to scream in pain as she hit the floor. He lunged at me, knocking me against the wall. “I’m gonna make you pay bitch,” he spits at me, grabbing a fistful of hair and yanking me out of the room and down some steps into a dirty basement.

I never made a sound, even though he was hurting me. If I showed him fear he would rape me, he might do it anyway, and I’m praying it doesn’t happen. He forced me into a corner where someone had attached chains to the cement wall. He slapped me across the face and then cuffed one arm to the chain. “I’m gonna leave you chained to this wall until you beg me to fuck you, so don’t be stubborn, Brooke, or you’ll rot down here. Beg me on your knees, and I may unchain you.” Flex spat at my feet and went back up the stairs slamming the door shut.
