“Is Jax at the family wing with Maddox guarding Valerie and the others?”

“Yes, sir.”

Storm tilted his head. “You shouldn’t be so excited about this dangerous situation.”

“Sorry. It’s adrenaline. I’ll calm down and get focused.”

“Good. Now go to your post.”

Markey saluted, and I couldn’t help but crack up laughing.

“He needs to be trained better after this,” Storm said.

“Clearly. I’ll be just over there with Brynne if you need me.” I pointed behind me.

“Yeah. We’re leaving in thirty.”

“I’m ready.” I turned around and froze as Libby entered with Tina. I blinked, unable to believe my eyes. From my vantage point, she looked like my Bonita.

Fuck me. The old ladies’ plan might really work.

“I think I found my doppelganger,” Brynne whispered in surprise.

“It’s crazy what some hair dye and your clothes can do.”

She grabbed my hand. “Don’t forget who you’re in love with.”

“Never, Bonita.” I kissed her and took advantage of every opportunity to taste her sweet lips until it was time to go.

I didn’t let her go outside with me to see us off, but as we drove off the property, I could see her waving out of a bulletproof window from the bar.

I promise to come back to you and our baby.

We were in two different cages. Hero was driving my old man, Tina and Libby, but the SAA couldn’t be with them during the meeting. Dorian had made it clear, only three people. My dad had insisted on being the third person to be with his wife.

I was in Storm’s SUV with Art and Dodge.

Storm’s phone rang. “Yeah.”

“Nothing unusual out here,” Grizzly’s voice came through the speaker. He and Boxer were set up in the church’s bell tower. “Is Libby still going through with it?”

“Yeah. But she’s gonna be well protected,” Storm told him.

“She better be.”

Boxer’s name flashed on the dash monitor. Why was he calling when Grizzly was already on the phone with Storm?

“I gotta another call to take from your partner,” Storm said in a low growl. “Keep me posted and I don’t need you both blowing up my phone.” Prez hung up and answered. “Yeah?”

Clearly, the only reason Grizzly had called was to find out about Libby. Couldn’t say I blamed him. I didn’t want Brynne anywhere near the church.

“My informant lost them when he fucking ran out of gas!” Boxer’s voice pinged off the windows.

“Are you kidding me?” Storm hit his hand on the steering wheel.

“After they stopped at the building and loaded two people into the back, they took off again, and he didn’t get a chance to fill his tank. Don’t forget he left work unexpectedly to tail them.”

“Yeah, yeah, I know. Did he see who they removed from the building? We could be walking into a trap if Raymond isn’t with Dorian.”
