He went pale.
“So she did. Well… I need to ensure she doesn’t do that again.”
“Don’t hurt her! She didn’t tell me anything. I swear.”
As if I’d believe him now. “Then how do you know there was someone else there?”
“I heard her crying.”
Hmm, perhaps he was telling the truth. It didn’t matter. The servant needed a reminder of how to keep her mouth shut. Cutting out her tongue would solve her apparent chattiness.
“Please, she didn’t tell me anything,” the boy begged.
“Sir,” the guard said.
I waved him off. “This meeting will start when I say, and no sooner.” I considered Raymond a moment. His brow was furrowed, and his dark eyes were watery. Had he developed feelings for the servant? Unbelievable. He should raise his standards. “Don’t be disruptive, okay?”
“I won’t. Just don’t hurt the girl.”
“Agreed. You do as you’re told, and the girl won’t lose her tongue.”
His eyes bulged. “I promise.”
“Excellent.” I almost clapped with excitement. It was exhilarating to have control over people and use them to my advantage.
I had never felt that way about Christina. I had adored her, loved her with all my being. Her betrayal had destroyed me, but I never stopped loving her. Not even when I helped to kill her that snowy December day.
The boy gasped softly.
“Sir, they’ve arrived.”
My girls were side by side. They stole my breath away.
I reached for the door handle, anxious to see Christina up close.
“The other car isn’t here yet,” the guard said. “Let me find out what the holdup is.”
“There’s four of us and only three of them. We have the advantage. Wield your weapons, and let’s go,” I sneered, unable to take my gaze off Christina. “You can’t possibly be afraid of an outlaw biker.” It appeared I needed new staff all around.
“Yes, sir. We’re ready.”
“Excellent, let’s get this over with so I can take my bride-to-be home.”

A Mercedes SUV arrived half an hour after us, but we’d stayed back until Storm gave the word to proceed. He’d wanted to make sure they weren’t outnumbered.
Strangely only one vehicle had come.
I couldn’t stop shaking as we crossed the parking lot behind the church. I never thought I’d see Dorian again, especially not in this kind of situation. He must’ve lost his mind after Bruno had staged my murder to appear as though I’d driven off the side of a cliff.
Dorian’s sick perversion with marrying my daughter proved he wasn’t the man I once loved. How could he think it was all right? And grooming her? The very thought nearly made me vomit.
His despicable actions shouldn’t surprise me though. His parents were beyond odd and had controlled him with iron fists, and his younger brother, Coby, had always been mentally unhinged. Being young, naive, and hopelessly in love with Dorian, I’d been blind to any warning signs.
The passenger’s door opened, and Dorian confidently emerged in a black suit and his hair slicked back. He hadn’t changed much from what I could see. Still handsome and alluring but also repulsive and arrogant.
