Page 71 of Fierce-Jonah
It was the way Raina said it. Like they were schoolgirls on the playground. “Now you sound like me.”
No way she was admitting that she was in love with Jonah. She hadn’t told him so she wasn’t saying it to anyone else.
“You want to know what I think part of your problem is?”
“What?” Megan asked. “Now that you’re married you want to give advice?”
“I am the one with the ring on my finger and not you.”
“Ha ha.” She really did love how much Raina had loosened up over the years. “Seriously, what is my problem?”
“You haven’t told your family about Jonah yet. You feel guilty about that deep down. I think you are worried he might be upset over it too.”
How was it possible that Raina knew that? “Maybe.”
“The longer it takes you to tell them, the worse it makes you feel. Just get it over with. They are going to react the same regardless.”
“You’re right. I guess I’ll let them know this week. Do you think Jonah might be upset over it?”
“I don’t know. Jonah doesn’t stress about too much. You’d have to ask him.”
“I guess I will,” she said. “Maybe later. We are going to the gym when we leave here.”
“Why?” Raina asked. “Don’t you spend enough time there?”
“He does. I don’t. I go three to four times a week. I was busy this week and got out of work late, so I only went once during the week and then yesterday. I didn’t want to go this morning before we came here. But we are going there next before home. We are going to work out together. I haven’t worked out with him before. I think it’s going to get my juices flowing.”
Raina shuddered. “Sorry. It’s my brother.”
“I know. I get it. Too bad.”
“Since you are going to burn calories when you leave here, you can have a big piece of cake.”
“I love cake,” she said.
“So does Jonah. He doesn’t eat a lot of sweets, but my mother knows his weak spots.”
“Maybe I need to have a talk with her about that,” she said, laughing.
“Something tells me you know more of them than my mother does. And if you do, then I’m happy. Because not only do you look happy right now, but my brother finally does too.”

“Ihad no idea you liked lemon that much,” Megan said him when they were pulling into the gym.
“What?”
“You had a quarter of the cake with one slice,” she said. “Normally you don’t eat sweets. I mean anyone who eats protein bars like you, I’d think you wouldn’t want anything that was a real sweet.”
“Very cute,” he said. “I don’t eat a lot of sweets, but my diet isn’t that strict. Not like it used to be.”
“I’m sure you had a very strict diet. Glad that you don’t now. You sure you’re okay coming here today? I know you’ve been going out of your way to make time for us and I appreciate it.”
He was glad to hear that. “I don’t have a problem. I’m not working. I know you didn’t get to come much this week and you like to. I like that you’re putting the time in here.”
“I find I like doing this more than my yoga, but I did get two quick yoga sessions in this week. Work is just busy. I don’t have to stay late. They’d never ask, but I know there is a lot going on with a project Grant and Garrett have.”
