I liked the spark that appeared in her eyes, followed by a smile. “I might like that.”
I covered her mouth with mine, pressing her deeper into the mattress. “Yeah?”
She gave a nod, along with a smile.
“How do you really feel?” I asked. “Physically.”
She thought about it, and Mara wiggling her hips back and forth did nothing for the state of my body, already so hard again I ached.
“I’m a little sore. There’s a twinge inside I’m not used to. But not nearly as bad as I expected.”
That brought a laugh out of me. “Good. And if I were to do this?” I slid my hand down her side again, slipping between her legs to find her clit. Not inside her—just teasing.
“Oh,” she gasped, biting her lip. Her body betrayed her, pushing back against my palm.
“Too much?”
“No.” She dug one hand into my shoulder.
I couldn’t keep the smile off my face as she closed her eyes, and I focused on bringing her over the edge of pleasure again.
Chapter17
Mara
The hot waterflowed over both of us in Liam’s shower. I’d thought his bedroom was incredible, but the bathroom was amazing too. His shower was the size of my entire bathroom.
At the moment, I couldn’t see it, because Liam had my back pressed into the subway tile wall, and he was on his knees. His strength and his lips were really the only things keeping me upright, given the way my knees were weak.
Last night, he’d teased me until I came again, and every time I did, it felt easier. Liam found the little movements that made all the difference, like the way his tongue curled under my clit and made my body clench and shudder with anticipation and pleasure.
We woke up in the middle of the night, and he rolled me onto my knees and used his mouth again from behind. I saw stars and moaned into the pillows, falling asleep almost immediately in the aftermath.
I no longer had any doubt. Liam didn’t care about my lack of experience—he was creating my experience. He shut down the part of my mind shouting at me to feel guilty for taking, and he gave without reservation.
When he sank to his knees in the shower, my jaw dropped. But the feeling of his mouth wasn’t one I could resist. Not now that I knew what it felt like.
Pleasure broke over me like the flowing water, and I heard my own voice echo off the walls. Liam didn’t stop until I was braced on his shoulders, barely able to stand.
“I’m never going to get tired of that,” he said. “Or that sound.”
I pressed my lips together.
“Does that embarrass you?” His tone was teasing.
“A little,” I admitted. “It’s not a compliment you think about.”
He pressed me back into the wall once more. “It is for me. I’ll tell you as many times as you need to hear it. You’re beautiful. I’m completely addicted to the sound of your voice, and—”
He broke off and kissed me. Whatever was meant to be at the end of his sentence made my heart pound. He couldn’t have meant that, right?
Liam sighed. “I don’t want to leave this shower. But I want to check in at the ranch to see if they found anything.”
I nodded. “I should get to work. I’m behind.”
“Daniel’s made it clear. We’re both covered until this is all figured out. You can do whatever you like. But…”
“But?”
