If he’s gonna be permitted to go with us to kidnap sinners, we should at least make sure he’s bound by the same club rules as the rest of us.

“You can’t—”

“Do this. So you’ve said… over and over and over,” I say casually, his begging and pleading having no effect on me. “How’s that working out for ya?”

“I’ll call the police,” Kyle threatens, and I throw my head back with a wicked laugh.

Grim kicks Kyle in the back, sending the douchebag into an unnatural arch.

“Do you see any cops around?” Grim crouches next to his head when Kyle doesn’t respond. “Answer me!”

“What the fuck is he saying? I can’t read sign language,” Kyle complains.

“Maybe you should learn,” Mark taunts, and I’m impressed by how far he’s come reacquainting himself with ASL. He didn’t make one mistake.

I glance at Soul, and we both chuckle. “People always expect luxury accommodations,” he says, shaking his head. “This is the last stop before arriving in Purgatory, not the Ritz.”

Kyle’s eyes widen. “Purgatory? What’s that supposed to mean? Where are we? What are you planning on doing? Why am I—”

Grim straightens and kicks Kyle in the stomach. Air whooshes past his lips as he wheezes, struggling to breathe.

“Where’s Apple?” Kyle asks when he’s able. “She’d never be okay with this.”

I yank on the rope, forcing Kyle to scramble to his knees. “You know exactly where she is,” I snarl.

His eyes lock with mine, and then, like the idiot he is, he grins. “It worked,” he says gleefully.

I hand Soul the end of the rope so I can sign. I have no interest in Kyle hearing my next words.

“I’m gonna get Apple and bring her to the Confessional.”

“Breaking the rules?” Soul asks.

I glare at him. “You did,” I counter, referring to Cece being permitted in the Confessional with her villains.

Soul takes a deep breath before nodding. “Fine.”

“I want his ass on the cross. We’ll be there in twenty.”

Without waiting for a response, I whirl around and stalk toward the elevator. I don’t know if Apple even wants to be there when we drain the life outta Kyle, but she wasn’t thrilled when we left her out of purging Travis and Jason, so I know I need to at least ask.

Reaching my room, I press my thumb to the scanner, and the door slides open. Jez, Cece, Nikki, and Bunny are sitting on the bed, surrounding Apple. They’re so into their girl time that they don’t even realize I’m in the room until I clear my throat.

All eyes turn to me.

“Ladies, can you give me a minute with Apple?” I ask.

They look at her for a moment before scrambling off the bed and toward the door.

“Did you get him?” Jez asks before she leaves the room. When I nod, she grins and taps my chest. “Good man.”

When we’re alone, Apple rises from the mattress and crosses the room. She wraps her arms around my waist, and I slip mine around her shoulders.

“He’s here, isn’t he?”

“In the Confessional.”

“I want to see him.”
