“Are you sure?” Mica sighed as we all got out of the car.

“Absolutely.” I nodded. “As long as you guys don’t mind sharing a bed.”

“Not at all,” Torie assured me. “We share once in a while at hotels and stuff.”

“Good.” I gave them a weak smile. “If you guys want, we’ll figure something else out for tomorrow. Right now, it’s late, and you guys should be comfortable.”

“Thank you, Mia,” Torie said as we started heading inside.

“Torie?” Kelly looked at her as she unlocked the door. “We’re around the same size. I’m gonna find something for you to wear to sleep.”

“I can get you something, Mica,” I offered. “I have some regular pajama pants and t-shirts.”

“You could give me a fucking nightgown if you wanted.” Mica sighed and pulled me into a huge hug. “Thank you, both of you, seriously. I don’t know what we would have done if you guys hadn’t been there.”

“Everything would have been fine.” I smiled and hugged him back. “But I’m glad we were there to help.”

Kelly and I went to get them their respective clothes, as well as clothes for ourselves. Mica changed in the bathroom, and the rest of us changed in my bedroom. Luckily, my mom had been pretty adamant that I bring spare everything in case a bag got lost or damaged, so I had a few extra toothbrushes they could use.

“Are you guys all right?” I asked when they were both dressed, teeth brushed, and calm. “We have a Brita filter, so use that as much as you need. I washed everything in the cabinets today, so all the dishes are clean. And we have some soda, I have some coffees and stuff. Then there are a ton of snacks–”

“We’re good, Mia.” Torie smiled and came over to give me one more hug. “You two are angels.”

I smiled back and returned the hug. “You’d be doing the exact same for us. You guys make yourselves at home, okay?”

“Thank you.” Mica nodded at me.

“Of course! I’m gonna go get into bed.” I waved goodnight at them and headed for the living room.

“Mia?” Kelly said as I started setting up my bed. “You can come sleep in my bed. It’s just a twin, but I’ve had sleepovers in twins before.”

“Are you sure?” I furrowed my brow. “I don’t want to be in the way.”

“Please.” She rolled her eyes, grabbing my hand. “Honestly, you’d be doing me a favor. I need company after tonight.”

I smiled at her and nodded, grabbing my charger and my phone. We went to the spare room that she was using as a bedroom. Of course, at the moment it was full of boxes, just like mine, but the bed was all set up and made, and that was all we needed.

She got in against the wall, and I got in beside her, pulling the covers up. “Hey, Kelly, can I talk to you about something really fast?”

“Of course, Mia.” She sat up and leaned against the wall.

“So… Did you see me tonight? Before the fire? Like what I was doing?” I asked sheepishly.

“Um… No. I was with Mica most of the night.” She shrugged. “Why? Were you okay?”

“I was… very okay.” I blushed, rubbing my face. “So I went to get a drink in the kitchen, and this super hot guy started talking to me. He was so smooth and flirty and he had these lines. They weren’t even cheesy. And he asked me to dance. Oh my gosh, Kelly, he is so fine. I swear my mouth was almost watering.”

“What?!” She gasped and kicked her feet a little. “Holy shit, girl! Who was he?”

“His name is Elias!” I grinned at her. “He has these gorgeous brown eyes and these dark curls, and he has this fucking smile that just… ugh! Anyway, he was being so flirty. Like, I asked if he had a girlfriend and he went ‘no, but if I did, I’d have broken up with her when I saw you.’”

“Ah!” Kelly squealed slightly, pulling her blanket up to cover her mouth. “That’s so cute!”

“It was!” I laughed. “And we were dancing, and he was holding me so close, and the music got slow and sexy… and I kissed him.”

Kelly squealed again, a bit louder this time. “No fucking way! You kissed him? You mean like he kissed you and you reciprocated?”

“No! I kissed him first!” I blushed, covering my face. “And it was so hot. But it lasted for like two seconds, then the lights went out, and then the fire happened, so obviously, we didn’t get much further. Anyway, before I came to find you, I asked for his number, but he was like ‘why don’t I meet you for coffee tomorrow instead?’”
