“Silver, you just–”

“It was nothing. The orgasm just–”

“No, don’t do that.” Honor pressed her hand between Silver’s breasts over her shirt. “Be honest right now.”

“I’ve never said that to another woman before.”

“Do you want to right now?”

Silver nodded and swallowed. Honor did up Silver’s jeans, wiped her own mouth with a tissue, and stood up fully in front of Silver, taking both of Silver’s hands in her own.

“Not the way I pictured us saying that for the first time, but if it helps, I love you, too.”

Silver gulped, and she was pretty sure it was audible to the whole office.

“I love you,” she said.

“We really just said that after we ate each other out in my office.” Honor smiled.

“Yes, it sounds like something we’d do, when you think about it. How did you know I really wanted to say it and it wasn’t just the sex going to my head?” Silver cupped Honor’s cheek.

“You said it in your sleep last night.” Honor laughed. “You were sleep-talking, I guess, and you said, ‘Honor, I love you, baby.’ It was really sweet.”

“I sleep-talk?”

“It’s usually just random words, but one night, you asked whoever you were talking to in your dream to make you a cup of tea. I didn’t even know you drank tea.”

“I don’t,” Silver said, laughing. Then, she placed her forehead against Honor’s shoulder and asked, “You really love me?”

“Why do you think I wanted you to have stuff at my place and vice versa? I just signed my lease again right before I met you, so I have about nine months left on it or so, but I wanted to know if you’d be up for the idea of us living together when it’s up. Kind of implies something there, babe.”

Silver lifted her head up and said, “I love you.”

“Good. Will you stop being jealous of Christina now?”

“No.” Silver shook her head.

“Christina didn’t just make me come under my desk with someone else staring right at me.”

“Shit.” Silver looked down. “You’re still half-naked.” She laughed at Honor’s jeans, which were still wrapped around one of her ankles.

Minutes later, and fully dressed now, Honor opened her office door, surprising Silver when she took Silver’s hand to walk them out. Then, she stopped over where Alec was working at a desk and held up their joined hands.

“Hey, Alec. Just wanted you to meet my girlfriend, Silver, before we head out for the night.”

“Huh?” he said, looking very surprised.

“Nice to meet you,” Silver lied.

“Yeah… Uh… You too,” he replied.

“Ready to go home, babe?” Honor asked, kissing Silver on the cheek.

“Yeah, let’s go home, baby.” Silver smiled wide.

CHAPTER 29

Honor had been going through a lot of changes recently, so she wasn’t surprised when Kathleen asked to hang out with her one night after work. They went for drinks, and a few others from the office went with them, too, but they were in their early twenties and mainly stuck to the bar while Kathleen and Honor sat in a booth in the back.
