Her gaze drifted to us, and she flashed a wide grin our way, winking at me. She’d always been beautiful, but she was even more gorgeous pursuing her dreams.

“Mama,” our son, Oleg, muttered. Pointing at her, he repeated, “Mama.”

I kissed his head, inhaling the scent of baby oil. “You want to go to your mama?”

“Yes.”

“Let’s go then.”

I carried him to where Lilianna was arranging her briefcase. She looked at us, eyes wide. “What are you doing?”

“Not my fault. Our son misses his mama.”

Oleg stretched his arms, and Lilianna took him from me. She kissed his lips. “You have to see how cute you two are,” she said. “I almost fell in love all over.”

“Then you should.” I perched a kiss on her cheeks, ignoring that they were other people around. No one dared to look our way; they knew better than to do that.

“I have something I need to tell you during dinner.”

My anticipation was piqued. “What’s that?”

She smiled at me, and damn, my wife was so addictive. So sweet. Like honey. If we weren’t in public, I’d punish her for being so freaking gorgeous.

I helped her pack up and drove us home, all while my chest near damn detonated with anticipation.

Time slipped through, and dinner came quickly. To my surprise, she’d invited my brothers for dinner too. Whatever she had to announce was definitely something big.

We arranged ourselves around the table and spent the first minutes catching up on business and our private lives until she clinked a glass with her spoon.

Standing up, she smiled at me, then at each of us at the table. “I was struggling to find the right way to start this, but I’m grateful you all came at my calling.”

The room went dead silent as we all listened to her.

“I want to thank my lovely husband because the news I want to share wouldn’t be possible without him.” She turned to Nikolai, Vlad, and Maxim. “And my brothers-in-law. You guys are the best brothers and uncles. Your love and support is immeasurable.

“I called for this gathering because we’re having a new addition to the family.”

I froze with excitement.

When she looked at me, she nodded, confirming what she’d just said. “I’m two months pregnant.”

My brothers cheered. All of them stood up and hugged her one after the other, chanting their “Congratulations” and arguing about which of them was a better uncle.

I remained seated, trying to process how happy I was. We were having another baby, another half of me and my precious wife. The joy simmering through me held me seated in shock for a good five minutes.

Once I regained my composure, I went to my wife and swept her off the floor, straddling her legs around. “We’re having another baby?”

She nodded. “Yes.”

Christ, I must’ve been a priest or something in my previous life because I certainly didn’t deserve this woman. I planted kisses on her lips, face, and neck, not minding that my brothers were watching.

“Thank you so much, Lilianna,” my voice cracked with happy tears. “Thank you for being my ray of sunshine in this gloomy world. Thank you for being mine.”

She cupped my cheeks. “No. Thank you for everything, Sergey. I wouldn’t have made it this far without you.”

Lilianna and I completed each other perfectly. We were just the right amount of light and dark.

The minute our world collided, everything fell into place. I couldn’t love or thank her enough for coming into my life.

But I was going to make her happy and keep her and our children safe for the rest of my life.

It’s a promise.
