“Moy tsvetok.”

Great. I was even imagining his voice right now. At this rate, I was going to end up insane before another week passed.

“Moy tsvetok.”

This time, I whirled around to make sure I wasn’t crazy. Instead of an empty space, I found Sergey standing in front of me, holding a bouquet of lilies.

I first went rigid from shock, but it didn’t last very long as I jumped to my feet the next minute and ran to him. “Sergey!”

He opened his arms to me, and I practically flew on his, holding him so tight and kissing him all over. “Oh, God. I missed you.”

“Not as much as I missed you,moy tsvetok.” He leaned in and planted a soft kiss on my lips. I closed my eyes for a second and breathed the scent of his perfume.

God, I missed his smell.

He propelled the flower towards me. “Something for you. But I must warn you; it’s not nearly as beautiful as you are.”

Pink bloomed on my cheeks as I took the flower from him. Hearing Sergey saying something so cheesy had me smiling from ear to ear. “What, did you learn how to be a hopeless romantic in Russia?”

He grinned, fingering my hair. His dark eyes shimmered with longing, his touch reminding me of how much I’d longed for him. A week had never passed as slowly as it did in his absence.

“You’ve forgotten what day today is. Wait until you find out what I’m about to do next.”

“What day is it?”

“Our anniversary. We’ve been married for two months.” Sergey dropped to his knee in front of me. He tucked his hand into his pocket, and when he brought it out again, a silver ring with a gigantic, dazzling diamond stud was in his hands.

“What are you doing?” My joy seared through me like rays from the sun. It was impossible to conceal.

“I didn’t do it right the first time, so I’m doing it again.” He propelled the ring to me. “I love you, Lilianna Anderson. I’ve loved you from the moment I laid my eyes on you. I want you beside me, and I’ll pay for it with my life if that’s what it will take.”

“Sergey—”

“I love you, Lilianna. I never thought I’d say those words but fuck. I love you like you’re the air I breathe. Marry me, please.”

Staring at the man before me made my whole-body tickle with excitement. I couldn’t believe how quickly time had passed and how much things could change within such a short period. It was just two months ago when I couldn’t face him, but now, he was the air that I breathed.

Sliding my finger through the ring, I pulled him up. “Yes, Sergey. I will marry you.” My chest sizzled with warmth and happiness as the next sentence formed in my throat. “I love you, Sergey.”

A wide smile threatened to split his face into halves. He palmed my face, and I was immediately blanketed with the heat radiating from his body. My heart throbbed loudly but with excitement.

His lips pressed against mine, his tongue thrusting into my mouth possessively. His kisses were perfect, just the right amount of softness and hardness. The sensation sizzled through me, forming an ache between my legs.

Our breaths mixed, producing something chaotic. I felt like I’d just invaded paradise, taking its most valued treasure.

In this moment, only one thought lingered in my head. I didn’t care if Sergey was the devil himself. What mattered was that I loved him enough that I would gladly stroll to hell with him.

Now and forever.

Epilogue - Sergey

Two years later

Lilianna won another case today, and it was the twentieth she’d won since she went back to being a lawyer after the birth of our baby a year and seven months ago.

I sat across the cross room, carrying our son in my lap and fucking proud of her. Yes, you heard me right. Our son.

She’d won the bet we made before he was born.
