At lunch, I smile when I see him waiting by my locker looking like he’s stepped off a modelling shoot. I don’t miss the way girl’s eye him as they pass. Seb smiles at them, dazzling them and making them giggle. Such a shameless flirt.

“Hey, precious.” He turns that panty-dazzling smile on me. It doesn’t work on me quite the same way as it does the rest of the female population, though. His smile drops as something catches his eye over my head and I turn to see what has soured his mood.

My smile drops when I see Damon hobbling down the hallway towards us with a determined expression on his face. “Great.” I groan.

Seb shrugs his shoulders, and determined to piss my brother off, he wraps an arm around my waist from behind me and rests his chin on my left shoulder.

“Silver. Good to see you back,” he says to my brother when he reaches us.

“Good to be back. You had to know I’d have issues with this.” He uses his crutch to gesture between Seb and me.

“To be honest, I wasn’t thinking about you when I started things with your sister.”

Day’s frown deepens, his eyes homing in on Seb’s possessive hand at my waist.

“Answer me one question, honestly. Are you just dating her to piss me and my brother off, or do you genuinely like her?”

“I’m dating your sister because I can’t stay away from her. It’s nothing to do with you or your family, trust me,” Seb says in a matter-of-fact tone.

Day continues to frown. “You hurt her, and I’ll make you regret it.”

Seb nods his head. “You’ll have to get in line behind your brother. But I hear you. Loud and clear. Can we go to lunch now? I’m starved.”

I roll my eyes. How is he hungry again? “You had a triple bacon sandwich for breakfast. How can you be hungry?”

We head into the cafeteria. It feels so strange to be walking in here with both my brother and Seb Collings. Who would have thought the day would come when two Silver’s would sit at the Aces table and not even be part of the society?

Eyes widen as Eliza pats the seat next to her and Damon takes a seat. Seb pats his knee, grinning at me. Holding back an eye roll, I smile and sit like a devoted girlfriend in his lap.

“Where’s Hugo? I forgot to grab a coke,” Seb groans, looking across the crowded dining hall for his poor lap dog, Hugo. I find the whole club initiation thing a joke. Poor club wannabes have to act like skivvies for the Aces until they decide they’ve earned a right to undergo the initiation tests.

Seb taps me on my leg, getting my attention. “Mills, would you be a doll and grab me a coke, please?”

I eyeball him. He’s not serious, right? “Pardon?”

“I said would you grab me a coke?” He winks and pats my leg, signalling for me to make a move.

I scowl at him, wanting to tell him to get off his lazy backside and get his own drink. He glances over at Damon and shakes his head, reminding me he has my secret.

“Sure, thing, honey.” Keeping my poker face smile, I rise from the table and fist clenched; I storm over to the kiosk. I grab his royal arse hole his coke and grin to myself, grabbing a sachet of salt. Opening the can, I sprinkle some in.

“Here you go.” Smiling sweetly, I hand him the can of pop and I sit myself back down on his knee like a good little lap dog. Today is a reminder not to let his occasional niceness fool me; he's still an entitled bastard. I watch with feigned innocence as he takes a drink. Sadly, I mustn’t have put enough salt in there, as he doesn’t even flinch. Damn.

“What are we doing tonight, folks?” Seb asks the occupants of the table.

“Archer and I have a meeting with our wedding planner,” Eliza says, rolling her eyes.

“Wow, things are moving at a pace, huh?” Seb whistles, winking at me.

Eliza nods her head, resting her head on Archer’s shoulder. “You know Wilbur. He’s always persistent.”

I don’t miss the look the three boys, Eliza, and Vee all share. Seb squeezes my hand, getting my attention. “Are you working tonight?”

I shake my head. Checking no one else is listening, I lean into his ear. “I’m going to get the bus over to Droyton tonight. I need to make sure Charlie is okay.”

He frowns at me. “I can’t take you, but I’ll come and pick you up.”

“You don’t need to,” I protest, but he puts a finger to my lips and shushes me.
