“Don’t argue with me, Mills. I’m picking you up and that’s that. I’m not having you getting the bus home in the dark.”

I don’t argue with him. He has me so confused. One minute he’s being a complete bastard and the next he’s being sweet and considerate. The question is, which one is the real Sebastian Collings?

MILLY

Iget Luca to drop me off at Seb’s. He’s insisted I join him for an impromptu pool session. I should be studying. Instead, I’m here playing the fake girlfriend. I’ve been paid today so I’m going to pay him back some of the money he’s spent recently. The housekeeper lets me in, and I climb the stairs to his room. His door is open, and he’s putting on his sliders for the pool. I walk straight up to him and hold out two ten-pound notes. “First payment.”

Seb steps back and holds his hands up. “Hi to you too. I told you I don’t want it back.”

I step forward, closing the distance he’s trying to create between us. “Take it.”

“No.”

I grab for his shorts pocket and attempt the money inside, but he grabs my wrist, and we struggle against each other. “Will you stop? I’m not taking it off you. You need it. I don’t.”

“Just take it!” I wriggle and try to turn in his hold, and we both topple over, landing on his bed. I attempt once more to push it into his pocket, but he holds me in place with his hips. He grabs both my hands and pins them above my head.

“Stop, Mills.”

“You stop. Take the god-damn money! I won’t owe you. It’s not okay with me.”

“Stop!” he orders me as I fight underneath him. I’m determined to pay him back.

“Mills,” he warns, growling in frustration.

Suddenly he’s kissing me and, even more shockingly, I kiss him back. I wind my legs around his waist, and he grips my hips. His tongue explores my mouth. I moan as the kiss becomes fevered and we kiss like we might never kiss again.

“Seb, have you seen my—oh, my bad.”

I wrench my lips from Seb’s and look up. Vee is hovering in the doorway to his room, grinning. “You really should close the door if you’re going to make out in here,” she suggests. “Anyway, I’ll come back later, when you’re not eating her face off.”

“Funny!” Seb snipes, giving her the finger. Vee chuckles, winking at me, then she leaves us alone again.

“Fuck,” I exclaim, pushing at his chest to get him off me. “Why did you kiss me?”

He doesn’t let me up. He keeps me pinned with my arms above my head. His body still pressed against mine. “To shut you up. It worked, didn’t it?” He grins and I have the sudden urge to slap him. If only my hands were free to do so.

“Let me up. Get off me!”

Seb tilts his head, grinning at me. “You sure that’s what you want? Seems to me you really liked me kissing you.”

“I did not,” I protest, bucking my hips to get him off me. All my attempt does, is rub my hips against his and I feel an obvious bulge in his trousers. Seb laughs when my eyes widen in realisation. “Do that again and I’ll be doing a lot more than kissing your pretty mouth, precious.”

My body rushes with heat and my cheeks redden to a deep scarlet. “Just get up, you big oaf!”

This has him laughing even more, which winds me up further. “I’ll get up when you promise me you’ll put that money back in your purse, and not try to pay me back.”

I glare at him. I hate him and his kissable fucking lips.

“Just say the words, Mills. I, Milly Elouise Silver, Seb’s adoring girlfriend, promise that I won’t try to give Seb the money.”

“How do you know my middle name?” I snap. I’m sure I’ve never told him what it is.

He rolls his eyes at me. “Mills, how many times do I have to remind you, I’m an Ace? I made it my business to know all there is to know about you. Now stop trying to detract from the point and say the magic words.”

“I, Milly Elouise Silver, Seb’s unfortunate girlfriend, promise that I won’t try to give Seb the money back.” I fake smile at him. “Now, will you get up?!”

He bobs his head side-to-side determined to make me suffer. “Maybe. I quite like having you pinned underneath me, helpless and at my mercy.”
