I startle with awareness.“It’s only a washcloth.”He gently wipes it over my back and sensitive area before helping me into the bathtub with him.

I lower myself between his legs, nestling myself to get comfortable before resting my head on his chest and relax against his body.It doesn’t take long before hands start to stray and before we know it, we’re mauling each other like sex crazed beasts all over again.

Antonio wasn’t wrong when he said he’d make me dirty. We finished up with a shared shower after all our escapades. Not that we’re complaining in the slightest.Times like these I’m glad I’m protected as we haven’t used a condom once.

“Do you really think going to my parents is a good idea when your brother is being an asshat? We could cancel and stay here instead?”Any excuse is good enough for me.Why not start with the best one.

“You’re circumventing.”

“I’m being realistic.”

“We’re going.”

“You annoy me.”

“Because you’re not getting your own way?Come on, Lacey, I’m not going to miss an opportunity to meet your family. They sound delightful.”

“Your sarcasm is delightful. They are not.”

“You asked me to be your plus one tonight, so we’re going. And asshat isn’t a word I’d use to describe Darius, just so we’re clear.”

“How would you describe him then?”I push to get more information about his anonymous brother.

“End of discussion, Lacey.”

I go into my walk-in to retrieve my outfit while we banter.I kind of like it.It’s natural and comes freely. And the little facts about his brother aren’t going unnoticed either, so I tuck them away now that he’s closed off.

“I like the white one.”

My hand freezes on the hanger rail.I don’t have any white dresses.I turn my attention to where he… was?“Antonio?”I wait for his reply, but instead he returns moments later with a garment bag.My heart stops beating.“What’s this?”

“I want to spoil you.”

Excitedly, I skip over to where he stands beside my bed, pulling the zip down to open the bag.

“Antonio, it’s beautiful,” I gasp, covering my mouth with both hands.I marvel at the sight of this gorgeous dress.“How did you…?”I take the beautiful off-the-shoulder cocktail dress from its hanger and hold it to my body.

I’ve never seen anything more, me.

“I ordered it this morning after I left and organized for it to be delivered.I wanted to show you off after dinner.I have a hunch this evening’ssoireeisn’t going to last very long.”

His cocky confidence doesn’t go unnoticed. It makes me wonder if he’s hiding something, but I don’t voice my suspicion.

“Well, I love it.It’s gorgeous.Thank you.”I swish the material from side to side with eagerness to change into it.

“Go, get dressed.I have a few calls to make.”With a lingering peck on the cheek one moment, the next he’s gone from the room.

I take this time to do my hair and makeup, then allow myself a few moments to admire myself in the mirror once dressed.I emerge in the living room not long after, hopeful to find Antonio. The first person I bump into is Knox while he supervises the men fixing the door.

“We’re not here.”He then hurries the men to finish the job.

Nerves invade my thoughts the longer I search. It’s only by pure luck that I see him standing around the corner on the balcony outside.

His arms rest on the railing, pulling his shirt taut against his back.I don’t know what it is about men in dark clothing that makes me hot, but standing here admiring my man through the tinted glass does just that.

I inch forward to where it’s slid ajar and stop myself going any further.I shouldn’t listen in on his conversations, but something tells me I shouldn’t turn away either.

“I know this is dangerous, but what choice do I have?He sent her pictures. No!I won’t put her at risk like that. Are you fucking insane?Look how well that turned out for you!”
