“Was all of that happening?” Britt’s jaw drops.

“I also asked your mom to cast a protective spell, just in case.”

She snorts a laugh. “You must’ve really been scared.”

“Not as scared as I was when the florist’s van went into the ditch.” Peeking out the door, I survey the large space. “I think our backup plan worked out well.”

The twinkle lights and pine boughs filled in the gaps left by the missing flowers, and luckily, the workers were able to use the flowers that survived to pull the room together.

“Is that why the parking lot is all messed up behind the sign?” Jemima walks over to where I’m peeking out at the event space. “Oh, no. Guess who just walked in the door?”

Britt and I exchange wide eyes, and she runs over to where we’re standing. “Who?”

“Drake Redford just walked in with Harold Waters.” Jemima’s voice is disappointed. “You don’t think they’re a couple, do you? Harold is so nice when he’s not doing whatever Drake tells him.”

“Drake wasn’t gay when I dated him, but maybe that was his problem,” Cass calls from where she’s arranging the line of buttons down the back of her long arms. “Maybe he was in the closet? It certainly would make sense, considering how bad he was in bed.”

“Who invited him?” Britt crosses her arms roughly, pacing the small area. “Alex can’t stand Drake Redford. They almost came to blows at Pinky’s birthday party.”

“Don’t worry about him.” Cass rubs her hands up and down our pregnant friend’s arms. “My future husband won’t break anything in his precious distillery.”

“I hope you’re right.” Britt looks up at her and her expression melts. “Oh! Are you ready to walk down that aisle and become Mrs. Alex Stone—and more importantly, my sister-in-law?”

“I was born ready!” Cass starts to laugh, and the three of us hug closer.

“Let me in! I want to be a part of this gang.” Jemima puts her arms over ours and does her best to hug us.

“Get in here.” I pull her closer.

It’s the day we’ve all been waiting for and nothing, not even a crashed florist van or supernatural mischief or uninvited guests is going to bring us down.

Aunt Carol peeks her head in the door. “It’s time, girls.”

Cass hops over to fetch her bouquet, and we all take our places in line. Adam texted earlier that he and Ryan were here, but Cass wanted us to stay together until after the ceremony.

The four of us join hands for a moment. Cass takes a deep breath, blinking widely, and it’s time. Britt leads the three of us, and I wait as she makes her way to the front of the cozy clutch of friends surrounding the old pastor who has joined so many Eurekans in holy matrimony through the years.

Jemima goes next, walking down and taking her place beside our pregnant friend.

Now it’s my turn.

“Wait.” Cass catches my arm before I step through the door. “Is everything okay? Really?”

Stepping back, I pull her into a hug, giving her what I hope is an encouraging smile. “Yes. We’ve shined a light on the past and uncovered ghosts in more ways than one, but it’s nothing we can’t handle. Right?”

Her brow relaxes. “Right. We’ve got this.”

I squeeze her hand. “Are you ready to be a Sadie?”

It’s a reference only my Broadway-obsessed bestie would get.

“A married lady?” She smiles. “You bet I am.”

Walking down the aisle, with the sun setting outside the windows, I’m delighted by how beautiful having more leaves than flowers can truly be with the right amount of twinkle lights.

The placeismagical, and I think the naughty ghosts might’ve been working in Alex’s favor. Cass is an empath, after all, and she did assist Gwen for a little while.

Then my eyes land on Adam, and my breath stills. His blue eyes are intense. His dark hair is tied back in a small ponytail, and he’s wearing the same gray suit as his brothers. But my entire body tingles with desire.
