“I can taste your bloodlust.” He nips my chin, drawing a moan from my lips. “Rage simmers inside of you, ready to bubble over.” His cock swells against my thigh. “We could go out and kill a bad guy. Would you like that, my love?”
I adjust myself so I can meet his gaze. His eyes glow, his fangs long and sharp, teasing his bottom lip. “Violence turns you on?”
“Yourviolence. I find it amusing and fun most of the time, but coming from you… What a rush.”
“You, um, you want to see me hurt someone?”
He nods, holding my gaze. “Fuck yeah, Kyson. I’ve never experienced emotions like this. It’s almost too much.”
“I feel the same way.”
“I know. You are so, so perfect. In every single way. I adore you, my love.”
Cupping his cheek, I search his eyes. “A little part of me wishes it wasn’t a dream,” I confess.
“I know.”
“But I’m not sure I’m ready to actually do that to anyone.”
He nods. “I know that too.” He tilts his head slightly. “Feed, lover. Soothe your beast.”
“Oh I’m not—” I was about to tell him I’m not hungry, but the sound of blood in his veins and the sensual uptick in his scent shuts that down. I scoot closer, brushing my nose against his neck before sinking my teeth into his flesh.
“Mmmm,” I moan as sweet, thick blood paints my tongue.
“Yessss,” Thorn whispers, rubbing his cock against my thigh. “Feeding you is such joy for me. I’m the one who willtake care of you and make sure you have everything you need for eternity, Kyson. You and me until time ends.”
His words fill my soul the way his blood nourishes my body, fixing every tiny crack and ding left by others. The more of him I take into me, the stronger I become.
My eyelids grow heavy again, my thoughts calming. Thorn lifts my leg, entering me easily, and his blood takes on a heady flavor. I arch into him, and he takes us to a new level when he bites back, sinking his teeth into my wrist.
We feed and fuck and lose ourselves in immeasurable pleasure. For now, nothing matters but this.
Nothing matters but us.
Chapter 26
THORN
I open the door to the antique store, guiding Kyson inside with my hand on his lower back. A few workers mill around the front, fixing shelves and setting up for the day. The woman I saw him with before hurries over, a big smile on her face.
“Morning,” she says brightly.
“Hey,” Kyson says. “Let me formally introduce you. Sandra, this is my, um, boyfriend, I guess. Thorn. Thorn, my work bestie, Sandra.”
Sandra’s grin widens. “The man of the hour. I’m so happy for you and Ky. He deserves a guy like you.” She steps closer. “But hurt him and I’ll carve your heart out of your chest and feed it to you.”
Kyson sputters while Sandra gives me a pretty smile.
“Noted. I’ll never hurt him. I’d carve out my own heart before you got to it.”
“Glad we’re on the same page,” Sandra says. “Jerkface is here early.” She nods towards the back. “He’s being weird again.”
“Weird is becoming the norm,” Kyson says. He turns to me. “I’m gonna get to work. I’ll be off at four-thirty.”
“I have an errand to run, then I’ll be back. Lunch?”
“I always have lunch with Sandra.”
