But I’m a guy, and I know how the male mind works when it comes to a good looking woman like Lilly.
I’m going to protect her like I always have.
At least that’s what I’m going to keep telling myself because I’m a possessive, jealous dick. And right now, I don’t even fucking care.
Chapter 12
Bishop
My best friend is crazy. Like full-on needs-a-straight-jacket nuts. The dude has me sneaking around like I’m in some cheesy spy movie.
“There she is,” Toby whispers, pointing to Lilly. She’s standing by the entrance, Ryan’s arm wrapped around her shoulder. “He’s fucking touching her,” Toby growls.
“Well, they are on a date,” I point out. “But by all means, go on over there, and tell him to take his hands off her.”
“Fuck you,” Toby mutters, making me chuckle. “How are you not more upset that Clay is out on a date with your sister?”
Oh, fuck. How the hell did I forget that? “Fucking hell,” I groan, watching as Bianca and Clay join Ryan and Lilly. “I was so focused on you freaking out about Lilly I completely forgot. Okay, yeah, it’s a good thing we came. We need to make sure those fuckers keep their hands to themselves,” I growl.
“Thank you,” Toby sighs, waving an arm in the air. “That's what I’ve been trying to tell you.”
Rolling my eyes, I nudge him forward. “Come on, we need to move.”
Clay isn’t a bad guy. I actually like him, he’s one of my friends. But that’s also my baby sister, and I don’t really enjoy the fact that she’s here on a date, with anyone.
I could be out, partying with a sexy little puck bunny, but I’m here with T, stalking our sisters on their dates. What even is my life anymore? I knew that the girls coming here was going to shake things up a little bit, but this is too much too soon.
But I still follow after Toby as we slowly walk towards the building. When they go inside, we buy our tickets.
“Where are they?” Toby asks, scanning the crowd.
“I don’t know.” I look around too, then spot them over by the concessions stand. “There.” I point them out.
“Come on. We can slip into the back of the theater while they’re waiting in line.”
“I’ll meet you in there, I’ve got to take a piss.” He gives me a look, and I roll my eyes. “I’ll be quick. I can’t risk going during the movie, they might see me.”
“Fine. But hurry.” He takes off to the right towards the auditorium the movie is being played in, and I take off across the lobby to the bathrooms, keeping my eye on Lilly and my sister so they don’t see me.
After I’m done, I wash my hands. “What are you doing?” I ask myself in the mirror. If this is how Toby is going to be when it comes to Lilly, this is going to be one hell of a year. Maybe me making plans with Lilly and using up her free time so she can’t go out with other guys is the only way to keep him from going full-on caveman when it comes to her. “Never say I didn’t do anything for you, man.” I shake my head and make my way into the hall.
“Oh, sorry.” I freeze, heart pounding as a tiny little thing bumps into me. “Bishop?”
Fucking hell. Of course, karma is laughing at me right now. “Lilly, what are you doing here?” I fake surprise, praying she can’t see through my shitty acting.
“I’m here on a date... you knew that.”
“I didn’t know you were coming to the movies.” I shrug.
“Yes, you did.” She narrows her eyes. “I told you last night.”
“Must have slipped my mind.” I smile at her. Play it cool, man.
“Uh huh,” she says slowly. Am I sweating? I feel like I’m sweating. “So, what are you doing here?” She asks me as we head out into the main lobby.
“I’m on a date too,” I say the first thing that pops into my head and try not to laugh at the thought of Toby being my date. He’s cute and all, but I don’t swing that way.
“Oh, really? With who?”
