He sighs, leaning back against the pillow again. “One, I guess. We dated junior and senior year of college, but she transferred to Seattle to complete her masters program. Our relationship just kind of fizzled out. We wanted different things.”

“Different things? Hm?” I bite my finger between my teeth, trying to appear innocent. “Does she know about that thing you can do with your tongue where you cur-.”

He shuts me up with his mouth, showing me exactly what his tongue can do.

Thursday, Feb. 11

Igrasp for Declan’s arm as I fail miserably at catching my balance. He laughs as he pulls me up so I don’t land on my ass on the ice rink. “Just give me a few more minutes to get used to it,” I laugh. “I promise I’m not that bad.”

He grabs my hand and intertwines his fingers with mine so I don’t fall as we skate around the circle. “You’re going to end up pulling me to the ground, aren’t you?” he teases.

“Maybe.”

He shakes his head with a smile, purposefully speeding up to scare me. I hold on for dear life as he whips us around the rink. I’m happier than I am scared. What’s the worst that could happen? I end up layed out on the ice with Declan on top of me? I could think of worse situations.

I smile to myself thinking back to last week and how this date was planned in the first place.

“Addison, I’m seeing you on Valentine’s day. I don’t care that it’s not a Thursday. Don’t fucking fight me on this.”

We settled on him taking me ice skating today, and then he’s going to cook me dinner at his place for Valentine’s day to avoid the crowds. It’ll be our first “date” that isn’t a part of our weekly routine. I can’t lie and say I’m not excited. I’ve been wanting to see him more, but I haven’t been able to get myself to that place yet. I think that I can though. I think I can get back to a place that I never thought I’d ever be able to be again. Every day he chips me down a little further. He never rushes me. I like our pace. We can get to know each other without the pressure of everything.

But it’s time. I want more. I want him. I want him to be mine.

He holds on to both of my hands as he skates backwards in front of me. I roll my eyes. “Show off.”

He laughs. “Well, you’re extremely difficult to impress, so I’ll take it.” He pulls us over to the ledge, so we can take a break. He looks extra adorable when he smiles at me because his nose is bright red from the cold. “Tell me a secret,” he says to me.

I bite my lip, trying to think of something. He asks me to tell him a new secret every week. It started on the first Thursday, and he hasn’t missed a week yet. “Hm… I have never made a homemade lasagna.”

His eyebrows shoot up in realization. “Actually, me neither!”

“You have a secret that I want to know,” I say, leaning against the wall for support.

“Oh yeah?” he asks, pulling me in close.

I wrap my arms around his waist. “So the night when we went to your parents’ lake house, and you didn’t show up until really late, were you on a date?”

“A date?” he asks, looking away and laughing. “No.”

I lean my head to the side. “Why do you say it like that?”

He sighs. “Because.” He pulls back and leans against the wall, folding his arms over his chest. “I wasn’t doing anything. I went home.”

“What?” I ask with a confused smile. “Why?”

He places his hand on the wall and leans against it. “Because I needed to get away from you. I was feeling too much in that grocery store. When I saw you with him and that hurt look on your face, it took everything in me to not kill that bastard. He doesn’t even deserve to walk the same Earth you do,” he spits out. His face is angry like he’s reliving the moment in his head. He turns to me and gives me a soft smile. “I knew my feelings were too strong. I knew you weren’t in a place to reciprocate them, so I had to distance myself or I knew I would fall.” He rolls his eyes up at the sky. “Jokes on me, I guess. It didn’t help at all.”

I smile, looking down at the ground, not exactly sure what to say. I look back up at him. “Don’t talk sweet to me. You know that’s my weakness.”

I try to take a step, but my legs suddenly don’t work as I fall forward. Declan grabs my arm, stopping me from falling. The corner of his mouth tips up as he leans in close. “No, it’s not. You like it dirty.”

I smirk. “I like that you know that I like it dirty.”

His eyes flick behind me to the dark parking lot. I look up at him and then turn and look back at his truck before meeting his gaze again. There’s only a moment of hesitation before we both realize we’re on the same page.

“Fuuuuuuuck!”I gasp, trying to stay quiet as I bounce on Declan’s dick in the passenger seat of his truck.

I squeeze the grab handle, holding myself up as I slam my ass back down on his lap, clapping my asscheeks together with each bounce. Declan’s groans become incoherent words as he begins smacking his hands against my ass until both cheeks are bright red.
