We hadn’t gotten as much info as we wanted. It took time to get them to talk. Rael’s blowtorch proved effective.
He brought the flame to Dag’s bare chest for at least the tenth time as he began to moan, his voice going hoarse long ago.
“Are you working with Razr and the Scorpions?”
His eyes rolled in his head.
“Oh, fuck, no.” I picked up the bucket of cold water Spook had filled and tossed it at Dag.
He cursed as he wiggled, dripping as he groaned.
“Are you working with Razr?” Rael asked again.
He finally cracked. “Yes.”
Thought so.
“Why?”
He tried to shrug and couldn’t. “They all hate the Royal Bastards.”
We knew that.
Razr’s reasons were obvious. His father killed our previous pres, Keys, and another club member. In retaliation, we took out his father, Scar, and brother, Acid.
Our clubs were at war and had been since 2002 when all that shit went down.
“I know why Razr hates the club. Tell me about Tommy,” I growled. He was the one I wanted now—the last link on this crazy chain.
“Wait,” Rael interjected. “What’s in it for you two fucks?”
Dag’s head lolled on his shoulders. “Drugs. Pussy. Whatever we want.”
So Razr and his club bribed them with a good time.
“Why did you kill Kate Welsh?”
“Got bored and sick of her shit,” he laughed.
My fist connected with his gut. That wiped the smile from his bloody face.
“And Rowen Casey?”
“A loose end,” Killer mumbled.
He was in worse shape than Dag.
“Tell me about Tommy Casey.”
Killer stared me down. “You’re fucking his wife.”
Dag started laughing, cutting off when he couldn’t stop coughing. “He said she was a lousy fuck.”
Pissed, I unleashed my fury on him, busting the other side of his lip and blackening an eye. He spit blood before he went limp and passed out. Weak motherfucker.
The door to the basement opened, and Xenon thundered down the stairs. “I found the link to Tommy.”
Rael ticked his chin. “Well.”
