Everyone would know their roles.

Dante, Sam, Sage, and Val left the clubhouse. Jesse and Xander headed to join the rest of the club to finalize their plan.

Three hours later, darkness was settling into the evening and Sam called to say he’d gotten the confirmation from the Krypt about tonight’s game. Jesse, Xander, Sonny, and Wyatt took one SUV and the remaining crew on on this job split up into the other cars. The guys left their cuts at home just in case they had to stop someplace.

Xander had his laptop and was testing the comms as they drove to Canley.

“Everything sounds great, I can hear them clearly. As soon as they’re in, I’ll enable the two way.”

They drove by the mine and didn’t notice anyone parked in or around it.

Jesse tapped his earpiece. “Jackson, it looks like we can park in here and out of sight of the main road.”

The gate was broken and the fencing near the perimeter the same. The place had been abandoned years ago but Jesse wondered why the property was sitting unused. Then again, after a mine closes, either you leave it and reclaim the land or start it up again. Reclaiming it took time, and not all investors had patience. Whatever the case, the place was uninhabited, and they would take advantage.

“I’m picking up something on the tracker,” Xander held his hand up and adjusted his earpiece. “Sounds like bikes. I think the Krypt have arrived. Get into the lot, now!”

Jesse pressed hard on the accelerator and drove into the yard. There were no lights anywhere and he hoped to hell the map he’d reviewed was right. From what he remembered, they had to make a sharp left upon entering. Otherwise, they’d end up driving to the edge of the cliff and the gaping basin of the mine.

“We’re in,” Jackson replied in Jesse’s ear.

They parked and killed the headlights. Sure enough, in the silence of the countryside, Jesse heard the rumble of bikes and cars in the distance. Now, all they had to do was listen, and wait.

For bikers, that was anything but easy.

Val

Sam was sweating so bad the whole car reeked of body odor.

Not that she could blame him. She was nervous too. But oddly enough, not as scared as she should be. Val always had belief in herself and that had never wavered. Whatever came her way, she found a way to survive. She stared at her hands, now cuffed together, as she sat in the back seat with Sage. Both women were cuffed and had a gag in their mouth. They had to make the Krypt believe that Sam had trapped both her and Sage and were offering them as a kind of extra payment for being late.

She glanced at Sage as they pulled up to a gated address. Sage nodded and Val understood. It was on.

A tough looking guy with tattoos all over face and hands came up and knocked on the car window, startling her. Then a flashlight was shone in the car. Val blinked as the blinding light hit her retinas. Then a loud knock on the window was followed by a gruff shout.

“Roll it down.”

Sam reached for the window button, and the window rolled down, cold air blowing over Val’s shoulders.

“Name,” the stranger demanded.

“Sam Jones. Colt’s expecting me.”

The biker nodded and turned the flashlight forward. “Drive up and park. Get out of the car and wait.”

Once they did, two more bikers appeared. Ones Val recognized. Golan and Colt. The guys from the diner.

“I know this bitch,” Golan pointed at Val. “But who’s the other one?”

“My other waitress,” Sam replied quickly. “Figured you could let me play another game tonight with the right incentive.”

Val blinked back unexpected tears as the men stared at her. Her shiver turned to shaking as they patted all three of them down. They spent extra time on her and Sage, and she tasted bile in her mouth when they ran their hands over her breasts. They removed the gags from their mouths but left the handcuffs.

“All clear.”

The bikers smelled disgusting, like cigarettes and stale beer.

“The money?” Golan asked Sam and held out his hand.
