“Yeah, my dad might be coming home tomorrow.”

“That’s great.”

It was, but why did she feel like it was going to cause problems with her and Josh? She was an adult. Her father couldn’t give her a curfew or refuse to let her see him. Ashley just didn’t want him to worry about her or get upset. Hopefully with Jeremy and the kids being home, it would distract him enough so he wouldn’t dwell on her life as much. She took the summer apartment close to home to satisfy him, so that should be enough.

“What are you thinking about?” Josh asked.

She sighed. “I was thinking that the last time we had Chinese, we were fucking in your Jeep about now.”

“This time we’re going to make it to my apartment and I’m keeping you.”

“I don’t have a change of clothes.”

“You won’t need any,” he said.

Ashley laughed. “That sounds good to me, but stop by my apartment first. I want to grab an overnight bag anyway. And maybe a bathing suit. I’ve got tomorrow off. Let’s hit Jones Beach or something.”

“I don’t think I even own a bathing suit.”

“I think there’s a nude beach on Fire Island.”

“So why do you need a swimsuit then?”

Ashley laughed. “All right. I’ll go bare if you do.”

“Where am I going to put my pistol?”

Rolling her eyes, she said, “I guess we’ll have to take the Jeep. Have I mentioned I like riding in your Jeep?” She emphasized the word riding and reached down to stroke him through his jeans.

It was a nice ride on Long Island, even with the traffic. But she caught Josh yawning a few times. When they pulled up to her apartment, she asked, “Do you want me to make some coffee?”

“No, that’s all right,” he said, getting off the bike to come in with her. “It can wait until we get to my place.”

Josh stretched, but his eyes were darting everywhere. Ashley looked around as well but didn’t see anything.

“What’s up?” she asked.

“Nothing.” He smiled at her and patted her ass. “Hurry up and pack. I want to do dirty things to you.”

Ashley hurried to throw a bunch of clothes into a backpack. Scowling, she noticed that Tasha had borrowed a bunch of dresses, but then had put them in Ashley’s hamper instead of washing them. She’d have to have a discussion about that with her. She didn’t mind lending her some clothes, but the least she could do was return them clean. However, Ashley wasn’t sure Tasha even knew how to do laundry. She probably sent all her stuff out.

Pulling open her special drawer, Ashley grabbed a few things she hoped to rock Josh’s world with. With a little grin, she tucked them into the backpack on top of her swimsuit and beach towel. Tossing in her flip-flops and some suntan lotion, she was ready for their beach date tomorrow.

Josh was stalking around the apartment when she came out. “What are you looking for?” she asked.

He shrugged. “Nothing. I’m just tired.”

“We can postpone.” Ashley fiddled with the strap of her backpack.

“Not a chance. Let’s go.”

She locked up and when she turned back around, she saw Josh sitting on his bike texting someone. He put his phone away when she got on behind him. “Everything okay?”

“Yup,” he said, and started up the bike.

“I’m going to take my car,” she said. “I’ve got a few errands I want to run before the beach tomorrow.”

“Okay. Bet you can’t keep up.” He took off like a shot.
