With that, she straightened her shoulders and pulled open the door. She stopped short when she saw Ice and two other tall females standing by the door.

Ice’s eyes went wide for a second, before she smiled wide at her. “I was just about to knock. Are you going somewhere?”

“I was going to go explore a bit. I can’t stay locked up in the house forever.”

“Great. Do you mind if we join you? I can show you around.”

She gave Ice a wide smile, “That would be great, thanks.”

Ice gestured for her to exit the home, then led her towards the wide stairs leading down.

“This building is the inner residential building. Iron and I live over there,” Ice said, pointing to another set of large double doors on the far end of the long passage, “There are only the two residences on the fifth floor. The other warriors live on the first three. On the ground floor you will find the main kitchen area, the eating hall, and rest area. Most of the warriors are out training at the moment so it should be quiet.”

Amy glanced behind her, to where the other two females walked a few steps behind them.

“Ice?” Amy asked quietly.

“Yes?”

“How are you doing with everything?” She asked, gesturing to where she could see the black mass of the female’s symbiotes pulsing between the metal on her chest.

Ice smiled, “It is something I need to get used to still, but it’s not as strange as I thought. Iron seems to enjoy having the symbiotes ability to help him fight. He is training with Cane, Cole, and the beasts. Would you like to go watch? It truly is a sight.”

Amy chuckled, “Yes please.”

They moved down the stairs until they came out in the massive lounge area on the ground floor. All the warriors she had seen the last time she was here were gone. Only a few smaller females moved around the space, cleaning and wiping down the tables.

Ice led her outside into the bright morning sun. Amy followed her down a stone path until they moved around another large building. Behind it, she spotted the men in the center of a wide-open sandy area. Iron stood with Lace and Roam, while Cole, Cane, Sena, and Dio stood facing off against them. Emi stood with Iron, while Tope stood between Cane and Cole.

Ice gently touched her arm to get her attention, then pointed to a shady grass area not far away. Amy followed her and sat down on the grass, leaning her back against the tall red and brown tree.

“How did everyone take it when they found out about Emi and Tope?” She asked, watching as the men and beasts began to fight. It was incredible. Cane and Cole moved so fast, she almost missed it when they struck out at Iron.

Instantly, Iron’s body covered in the scale like armor, before Emi jumped in and bit down on Tope’s neck, driving him to the ground.

“Better than I thought they would. When Iron called a compound wide meeting this morning and strolled out with the two beasts at his side, many of the residents here took it in stride. People here trust Iron. If he says it's safe, they believe him. It took a while to get the beasts away from the children, though.”

Amy smiled, “Yeah, they might be big and bad and scary, just those two love to play.”

“Yes. The children did not want to let them leave. Finally, Iron had to order them to train. They have truly taken to the role of warriors.”

“They are good creatures, Ice. They have huge hearts, and they care so deeply. Don’t let Tope scare you with his big bad cat voice. He’s the softy of the two.”

Ice laughed, making Amy join in. She turned back to watch as Cane and Cole worked together with Dio to take Iron down, even though he had the symbiote. When he was on his back, Tope pounced on him, snarling into his face, and keeping him down.

Iron raised his hands at his side, chuckling when Tope playfully snapped his jaws an inch away from his face and jumped off.

Cole reached out to help the male stand as the black suit moved off his skin. They spoke for a moment, pointing to the others. They stepped back and began again.

“Lady Ice,” A soft, delicate voice said. Amy turned to see a small, shy female standing next to Ice with a tray of glasses and a tall, thin jug filled with a pale pink liquid.

Ice smiled up at her and reached for the glasses. She handed Amy one and took a long sip of hers.

Amy took a cautious sip of the pink drink, her eyes going wide at the delicious, cool drink.

After a few minutes, Amy asked, “How is Steel doing?”

Ever since Lace had told them that he was totally shut down from the world, she had worried about the male. She really hoped he pulled through. He deserved to live after what happened to him.
