The Korok spun to glare at him, but the cyborgs eyes never left her.

After a moment, the other three left, leaving her alone with the large, enhanced male.

Amy tried to see past the metal on his face, hoping to glimpse the same compassion she saw in all the other males in the compound, but there was nothing but cold hatred in his eyes.

“Why are you doing this?” She asked again, keeping her voice calm. Mika whimpered from her cell, the soft begging of the woman carrying to her.

He tilted his head to the side, a small, sinister grin pulling at his lips.

“I always thought the twins would die from the madness,” He started, making Amy’s heart fall. He knew the twins, “I hoped they would at least.”

“Why?”

“That is not what you should be worried about, little female. What you should be asking is what I am going to do to you.”

Mika cried louder, her pleading and begging making Amy’s skin crawl at the idea of what this male had done to scare her so much.

“Who are you?” Amy asked, trying not to let the gravity of the situation get to her. If she could just get out of the cell and above ground enough for Kisma and Maku to get to her, they would be fine.

He chuckled, “You could say that I am an old friend of your mate’s commander. Iron and I… we have a history.”

Iron? This was all about Iron? What did he want with him?

“If you want Iron then go get him. Leave me and the other humans out of this. We have no part in your fight.”

“I’m sure Iron will be dead soon if he is not dead already. You see, little human, a Arusian male will not survive for long without his mate. If he does not have offspring to live for, then the grief is enough to make him wither away and die.”

“Ice...” Amy breathed, her face paling.

The male nodded, “Now that Ice is dead, Iron will suffer in pain and grief until he finally takes his own life. I couldn’t think of a better way for the male to go.”

Anger exploded inside Amy. She marched to the bars, glaring at the male.

“Why? Why would you want to hurt Iron and Ice?”

The male moved so fast, Amy barely had time to blink before his arm shot through the bars and gripped her neck, slamming her face against the hard metal. Pain exploded in her mouth, the coppery taste of her own blood pooling on her tongue.

He stepped closer until his face was only inches away from hers.

“It’s not just Iron and Ice I want dead,” He growled.

Fear took over all other emotions as she understood what he was saying.

“Cane and Cole,” She whispered.

He chuckled again, the hand around her neck growing tighter. Amy tried to take in a breath, her vision getting hazy as the male squeezed her throat.

She tried to pull away, hitting at the metal arm, but it was no use. Dark spots began to dance in her vision as she squirmed and pushed at the large body, trying to get away. He was far too strong, and too big to shove back.

Fearing she would pass out, Amy turned towards the bars, glaring up at his narrowed eyes, and lifted her knee.

She was rewarded with a loud grunt as the hand around her neck eased, before the male snarled and backed away, both hands going to his groin.

Amy coughed, falling to the wet floor as she shuffled back to the far wall.

The hit to his balls was far too weak to cause too much pain, but it had the effect she wanted.

Rubbing at her neck, Amy glared at the cyborg, waiting to see what he would do next.
