Kayden keeps telling me I can’t hide from Hayden and eventually I will need to talk to him. Not just about that night but about everything.
It’s almost like Kayden knows I’m keeping a big secret from Hayden.
It’s just when I tell Hayden about Junior and what happened in that room, his reaction won’t be pretty. It will destroy him.
We all get inside the limo and I sit next to Natalia while Nicole sits next to her three friends. There aren’t many girls because most of the people here at the wedding are Nicole’s family. All of Nicole’s friends are models who are only able to make it to the actual wedding, not all the pre wedding stuff.
The wedding is in about a week and I am so scared and nervous even though I shouldn’t be because it’s not my wedding.
I just happen to be watching someone who was my everything, kiss another girl at the altar.
“So, Jaclyn, where are you from?” Nicole asks.
“Southern California,” I answer.
“Are you Russian or Middle Eastern? You look like you are.”
I shake my head. “No. I’m Romanian.”
Nicole nods her head lightly, like trying to connect the dots in her brain or something. “Interesting. I never really got along with Romanians. Always so stuck up.”
I furrow my eyebrows and am about to say something but Natalia gets to it first. “Nicole, that's probably because they didn’t like you.” Natalia laughs. “Question?”
Nicole gives her a fake smile. “You always do.”
“Are you finally jealous of someone?” Natalia asks and my lips part as I watch Nicole’s face turn red. Her hands clench around her champagne glass and her friends raise their eyebrows in shock. “I mean I’ve never seen you so invested in someone’s life before. You are just so pissed off at Jaclyn and I’m trying to figure out why.”
Nicole sits up and makes her friend hold her glass. “You should learn to mind your own business.” Nicole points her finger at Natalia while Natalia just smirks at her. I’m just watching all this unfold as a smile wants to force its way onto my face. “You keep opening your mouth like that and there will be consequences. Watch it.”
Natalia looks anything but scared at Nicole’s threat which is just embarrassing for her.
The rest of the car ride is mostly silent. Natalia only talks to me and Nicole only talks to her friends.
I want to grab Natalia by the shoulders and hug her because I’ve never had anyone stand up for me like she just did. I missed her and forgot what a good friend she’s always been. It makes me pissed off at myself for losing her friendship for some boy.
But God, that boy did a lot of damage.
When we get to the destination we all get out of the car. I look at the building and see that we’re at a strip club.
Okay.
Cool.
Never been to a strip club in my life but there’s a first for everything.
I just didn’t expect a strip club.
“Have you ever been to the strip, Jaclyn?” Nicole asks as we walk in.
“No. Have you?”
Nicole shrugs and says, “I’ve worked a couple.”
Oh.
I didn’t expect that.
Mostly because Nicole doesn’t seem like the type and also because she has money too so I didn’t think she worked at all.
