“I just wanted to make sure we talk about this every once in a while.”

“How are you feeling? Do you feel as if the pack has accepted you?”

“Yes. I feel at home now. Not just because of your family, but because of everything. I just wish I could take away all your pain.”

“You’ve done so much already. I’m a completely different man because of you.”

She leaned forward and kissed him, her pelvis moving closer to his. The kiss shifted from loving to needing, heat pulsing through their bond. Blake’s fingers moved higher up her thighs, his hardening erection pressing against her core.

With his hand around her waist, Blake led Niev to the main house. He’d already taken their luggage to the truck that morning and was now only carrying her backpack. She’d chosen to wear a loose shirt and leggings for the long drive, but had a dress in the backpack for when they arrived.

They’d prepared for the long drive by staying up late the night before and taking a nap in the afternoon. He could sense that she was nervous, but in a good way. She seemed to have gotten along with Ann and Kareem well and was eager to see their pack.

“Should we’ve gotten them presents?”

“I’m sure Mother has that covered. She probably has loads for us to take with us.”

“I don’t want to be rude or anything.”

“Ann is family, us visiting is all she cares about.”

He opened the door for her and let her step inside before following behind her. His mother had invited them and everyone else for dinner before their journey started. They seemed to be the last ones arriving, considering the table was already set and everyone was finding their seats.

His mother came around the table and pulled Niev into a hug, which she gladly reciprocated. “How are you feeling sweetheart?”

“I’m good. We took a long nap this afternoon to prepare for tonight.”

“I’ve packed you a few snacks.” Turning to Blake, she asked, “Do you have a little extra room in the truck to take a few things to give to Ann?”

“Of course, I’ll add them to the truck after dinner.” After his mother had turned back to the table Blake leaned to Niev and whispered in her ear, “Told you so.”

With an amused grin, she sat down with him by her side. While Niev chatted with Lyliann next to her, Michael started a conversation with Blake.
