“Well, I was mad. I still am mad, but…” he sighed, his face softening. “I shouldn’t have stormed out on you either.”
“I think we both let our emotions get the best of us.”
The more they talked, the more Niev relaxed. Jason had gotten a slight hold on himself. Though still a slut, he didn’t party as hard anymore and even started a new job. Niev only slipped up a couple times as she tried to hide her new life from him. He asked if she had any ultrasound pictures, but she didn’t have any. She made an excuse for it but felt bad for lying to him.
After a little over two hours, she felt Blake getting closer. The more time they spent around each other, the more the bond grew. A knock on the door alerted Jason that he was there.
He got up with a frustrated grunt. “Why can’t you stay longer?”
“We have a few things to take care of before meeting up with his family later.”
“Will you be back?”
She followed him to the door. “Yes.”
He nodded and let Blake in. “You can only have her back if you promise she can come visit whenever she likes.”
Blake chuckled, amused. She could feel that it was because he knew Jason had nothing on him. “Of course, she can.”
Jason turned to her and pulled her into a hug. “Take care of yourself and the babies. Visit soon, okay?”
“I will.”
Before letting go, Jason kissed her cheek. Blake tried to hide it from her, but his wolf enviously pushed at the surface. Blake stayed calm and tried not to let Jason see it. Taking Blake’s hand, Niev stepped outside and followed him to the truck. Seth started the engine as she climbed inside and sat next to him.
“And? Did Blake behave?” she asked.
“I always behave,” Blake replied playfully.
“Have you been shopping already?”
Seth drove off. “We’ll go there now.”
Thirty minutes later, he parked the truck in front of a small secondhand shop. It was a little hidden away but with cute displays in the window. Following Seth, she walked inside with Blake by her side. The owner, a sweet elderly lady, smiled as she saw Seth and pulled out a bag.
“Ah, your wife already called ahead. I packed up a few things for sweet Darron.”
“Thank you so much, Mrs. Kent. Lyliann loves all that you pack for her.”
Her eyes fell on Blake and Niev. “I see you’ve brought someone with you. Your brother I assume?”
“Yes, Blake and Niev, my sister-in-law.”
“How wonderful!”
“We’re looking for some newborn clothes,” Blake said as Niev drifted off to where she’d spotted some cute things.
“I think your wife is already moving in the right direction,” Mrs. Kent said lightly.
Niev felt Blake come closer as she held up a few onesies. Laying his arm around her, he picked up a few himself.
“I would recommend not to buy too many newborn clothes. They’ll grow out of them before they’ll be able to wear them all,” Mrs. Kent suggested and held up a few pairs of pants in a bigger size. “You can always roll up the sleeves or legs if needed but making clothes bigger is impossible.”
“I didn’t think of that.”
With Mrs. Kent by her side, Niev walked over to the larger section.
“Will it be a boy or girl?”
