He was gentle, still caressing her stomach with his other hand while slowly circling her. As soon as the first wave of pleasure washed through her body, she stopped fighting him, her body relaxing. It wasn’t about rushing her to her climax, rather giving her body and mind a sensation other than pain.
He continued holding and spoiling her with kisses even through the next contraction, and through the bond he could feel a slight relief. Sucking on her earlobe, he let his wolf near the edge of his mind. He had banished him from doing so hours ago because he’d been bothering Niev. This time though, his wolf was calm, and his tranquility spread through the bond and into Niev’s heart.
After a few more contractions, he could feel a shift within Niev. It was an urge from deep within that he hadn’t felt until then.
“What happened, beautiful?”
“I think I need to push,” she said and reached down.
“Natalie,” Blake called out as he shifted his hand away from her clit.
Natalie walked in; her aura so calm it spread safety throughout the room.
“Niev said she feels like pushing.”
She kneeled next to Niev and smiled her hand between Niev’s thighs. “You’ll meet one of them in just a few moments. It’s time to push, sweetheart.”
“Now? What if she falls?”
“Blake and I are right here. We won’t let anything happen to your babies. When you feel your next contraction, push as hard as you can.”
Niev nodded, the bond reflecting how anxious she was.
Natalie took Blake’s hand and shifted it from Niev’s stomach to between her thighs just as another contraction came and Niev started to push.
“Good, just like that Niev,” Natalie praised. “Gravity will help you.”
Blake flinched when he felt something touch his fingers.
“It’s her head,” Natalie gently explained. “No need to be afraid. We practiced this, remember?”
Blake nodded excitedly but he was also anxious as Niev pushed once more with the contraction.
“There she is,” Natalie cheered as Blake caught his daughter. Placing her hands under his, Natalie guided Blake to lift his first-born up. “Let mom take a look.”
As soon as he laid eyes on the tiny, wrinkly human before him, his whole world stopped. Tears spilled from his eyes as his wolf howled in the back of his mind. Niev gasped as Blake held the fragile being before her so they could both take a look at their baby.
Leaning her back against him, Niev reached for their daughter with shaky hands. “She’s here,” she whispered.
“Emlyn?” he asked.
“Emlyn.”
As soon as the words passed Niev’s lips Emlyn started to cry.
“What a good girl. Such a strong cry, just how we want to hear it.” Natalie quickly wrapped Emlyn in a blanket and then handed her to Niev who pressed her to her chest.
Niev leaned against Blake, seeking out his support. Holding Emlyn against her chest, tears of pain turned into tears of joy.
“Blake, would you like to cut the cord?”
He nodded and Niev watched as Blake reached down and cut the cord. Though Natalie had warned him, he was surprised by its thickness and how tough it was to actually cut apart.
As soon as the cord no longer joined them, Niev lifted Emlyn up and kissed her cheek with tears running down her own.
“Do you feel like you have to push again or feel another contraction?” Natalie asked.
Niev shook her head.
