We keep at it for a few hours, before I call it quits.

“Okay you guys, I think that’s good. For fucks sake, I don’t know how y'all do it and you aren’t even out of breath. Can we please call it a day?” I plead. “Sure kiddo, see you next time? Keep me updated on the texts too. We’re still working on it on our end. Nothing we’ve pulled up has come back though. No one you have taken down has connections to anyone else either.” Eddie informs me, running his hands through his sweaty hair.

“What about Brock? What other family did he have?” I throw out, I didn’t know much about him but fuck, there’s got to be something.

“Hmm. I’m not sure. I’ll look into it. Other than him seeing your mother, did he ever tell you anything? Where he’s from? Or anything from his past?” He questions, I stand there and watch the wheels turn.

“Honestly, I don’t remember, they didn’t have conversations in front of me and I damn sure tried to avoid him.” I state, racking my brain for any memories.

“Don’t worry Baby Girl, we will look into him too.” Reyes says, wrapping his arm around my waist. Nodding, I give Eddie my two-finger salute and slip through the ropes to head out. Walking to my bag and grabbing it, I head for the door, but not before Eddie calls out though.

“Don’t stress, we will get it handled kiddo.” He states.

“I know we will. I’ll kill him myself.” I seethe, walking out the door and to Reyes’ truck.

Throwing my bag in the back and sliding in the passenger seat, Reyes gets in on the driver's side.

“Luis said he got all new cameras set up and programmed new codes for you to use. If you want to give them to Eddie or Naomi, you need to tell them in person and not over the phone. Just in case.” He states, pulling out of the parking lot.

“Umm, do I have dumbass written across my forehead? I thought about that already, ya know, in case my phone is bugged somehow.” I sass, he turns his head slightly and glares.

“Always with the fucking attitude, Little Devil.” He growls and I just laugh. My phone pings with a text. Looking down and seeing it’s Luis, I look over at Reyes. He just raises a brow in question.

Sunshine- Not bad news, but when you get home, I think it’s time me and Reyes tell you another secret. We never got to finish our secret swap and it’s time you knew this one.

Setting my anxiety all the way at one hundred, I reply back nervously.

Me- Ummm…. OK. Should I be worried? You can’t send shit like that. You know how hard it is to decipher something like that through a fucking text.

Sunshine- I promise Bella it’s nothing bad. Not for you. Just about our past.

Turning my body to face Reyes, I look at him for a second before he looks at me and questions.

“What is it?” He gives me a worried look.

“So you and your brother have something to share apparently? I’ll wait to hear it from both of you, but he sure knows how to get someone's anxiety going.” I state, never looking away from him. He looks at me again and tears start to well in his eye.Okay, what in the actual fuck is happening?Grabbing his hand and giving it a gentle squeeze, he laces his fingers through mine. Bringing my hand up to his mouth, he places a kiss on it and lets them rest in his lap.

“I guess we’re that serious now. If it’s the secret I think he wants to share, we’ve never told just anyone about this.” He rapsout nervously, like he’s fighting back the tears of whatever I’m about to hear.

“Wait, we’re serious? You haven’t even asked me out properly. I’m hurt.” I joke, bringing my hands to my heart, trying to lighten the mood. That makes him let out a deep laugh, and I’d much rather see him laugh than on the verge of tears.

“You wanted to be asked out properly? Ohhh no, the minute you walked through the shop door, I knew I was going to make you mine. Whether you liked it or not, you didn’t ever have a choice. Sharing you with my brothers, well that’s just a luxury for them.” He chuckles, grabbing my hand again.

Pulling up to the gates, he pushes the call button and Luis’s voice comes through. Reyes lets him know it's us and in the next second, the gates are opening.Damn, now I have a whole intercom system. Sheesh he was busy today.Getting out, Reyes grabs our bags and we walk to the door. Walking into the kitchen, Luis and Damien are already sitting at the bar, alcohol in hand.Ahhh shit, it’s about to get real deep in this motherfucker.

Chapter twenty-seven

Raven

Sitting in the living room, I’m two drinks in, and there’s no telling how many Luis, Damien and Reyes have had. Sitting between Damien and Reyes on the couch, Luis is kneeling in front of me, his head hanging between us. You can feel the sadness in the room, like a dark cloud looming over us. Grabbing both my hands, he looks up at me, his eyes filled with tears on the brink of falling. My fucking heart is beating through my chest as I wait for them to tell me.

“Okay, Princess. Here goes nothing. So we had a little sister, until we didn’t anymore.” He takes a deep inhale and I'm stunned into silence. What the hell?

“I was six and Reyes was seven, Mia was five. My father hated her from the moment she was born. He said a girl could never run this business and she would just be a distraction for us. Our mom died during childbirth with her, so she never even got to hold her only daughter. Even though she loved us, I knew she wanted a little girl.” He pauses again, a single tear falling downhis face. Looking over at Reyes, his tears fall too. God I’m scared to know what even happened.

“We came home one night. Me, Damien and Reyes had all been hanging out all day, riding bikes doing boy shit. When we walked through the door, our dad was kneeling over my sister's bloody body with a knife. Damien called Zeke and we ran to her. Reyes tried to pull our dad away from her, but he wasn't strong enough. I knew when I picked up her lifeless body that we were too fucking late and she was gone. I checked for a pulse and tried to listen for her heartbeat, but there was nothing. Just her warm dead body laying limp in my arms. We were just kids, I didn’t know what else to do.” All three of them are full on crying now and God, my heart is breaking for a beautiful little girl I don’t even know and for them to go through something like that as children. As for their dad, if he wasn’t dead already, I’d kill him, myself.

“I’ve never felt pain like that in my life. I still remember both of us screaming when Zeke showed up, rocking her in my lap as we all huddled together praying she would open her eyes or at least take a breath. Losing her destroyed us. That day, not only did we lose our baby sister, but we lost the last piece of our mother we had. She looked just like her. She had so much spirit and would light up every room she’d walk into. Zeke didn’t hesitate when he walked in and saw the scene. He moved Reyes out of the way and put three bullets in our dad. His own fucking brother.
