He gave me a look that was halfway between a smile and a smirk. “I’m going to leave the room. You hide somewhere. When I come back, I turn off the lights so you can’t see. But when I find you, I don’t want you to run. In the dark, you’ll hurt yourself. So wherever you are… you have to stay still and let me do what I want with you… It will feel just like I’m hunting you without waking Kelly.”

“Oh… O-okay,” I agreed, taking a deep breath to try to steady myself.

“Good.” He fully smirked now. “I’m going to step out of the room.”

He opened the door and left. I immediately looked around and tried to think of a good place to hide. The closet and under the bed seemed like the most obvious places, but where else was there?

I did have a couple of boxes that I’d unpacked but I hadn’t thrown out yet, and my suitcase was in the corner. I didn’t have much time to think, I just started moving everything. I crouched down in the corner and put the suitcase to my side and two of the boxes in front of me, creating a fort-like hiding place.

Of course, as soon as I was in place, I remembered something about Soul. He could see in the dark. This make-shift hunt was all for my benefit.

For a moment, I worried whether or not he would even get anything out of this or would even enjoy it. Then the door opened and the lights turned off, and all rational, anxious thought left my brain.

I held my breath suddenly, but I could feel my pulse speeding up yet again. He would be able to hear the sound of my heartbeat. Surely that meant that he already knew exactly where I was…

I heard the door shut behind him and he hummed softly. "Where are you, little one?"

I barely managed to stifle a gasp. A shudder ripped through my body in anticipation. I heard his footsteps against the hardwood floor and closed my eyes.

“Are you in the closet?” He chuckled and I heard the closet door open. “Hm. No. I don’t see you…”

He was being dramatic for my benefit. Honestly, it was working. With every second that he prolonged our game of hide and seek, I grew more and more desperate for it to end so that I could find out what he would do to me.

“Under the bed, maybe?” he sang as his footsteps moved toward the bed. I opened my eyes, not that it mattered. It was so dark with the curtains closed that I couldn’t see a thing. “Nope. Not under the bed.”

Another shiver. I heard his footsteps coming closer, but I had no idea if that meant he was really coming for me, or if he was just teasing.

“You’ve got to be here somewhere,” he mused. I heard one of the boxes around me move, but I wasn’t sure which one. I closed my eyes again and pressed my back against the corner. There was a part of me that thought I should be brave. I should meet his gaze when he found me and play coy. But I didn’t want to do that. I wanted to give into the fear and the anticipation.

I didn’t have to pretend with him. That was the best part. What he did scared me, but I trusted him. I trusted him not to hurt me. I trusted him to stop if I said ‘red.’ I trusted that being vulnerable with him wouldn’t make me feel stupid or naïve like it did with so many other people. And right now, I trusted that whatever he would do when he found me was something I would enjoy.

Suddenly I felt his claws graze my arm. I gasped and jumped. My eyes shot open, but I still couldn’t see anything, not even his eyes. Why was that? Could he turn them off? Was he just not looking at me? Had this been an accident?

No. It certainly wasn’t an accident. He was slowly moving his claws up my arm, then down, then back up again. All the hair on my arms stood at attention.

He put one hand around my ankle. The other suddenly grabbed my arm. They tugged my forward, sliding me across the floor. I yelped and looked around, but I didn’t see his eyes anywhere. I felt like a rabbit caught in a trap, the hunter looming. And damn, was I excited.

“You thought this was a good hiding spot?” He laughed, his tone condescending. He moved his hand from my arm up to stroke my cheek with the tip of his claw. “Mmm… Silly. The truth is, there’s nowhere you could hide from me…”

Suddenly his red eyes were right in front of my face. I felt his lips crash against mine like a tidal wave. I moaned and grabbed his shoulders. He moved his arms underneath me and raised me off the ground. I clutched him tighter, my mouth never leaving his. My lips parted to let his tongue in as he started walking. He carried me over, then suddenly let go. For a split second, I wasn’t sure what I was going to fall on, then my back hit the mattress. It was like the drop of a rollercoaster once more, only it came without a warning. Adrenaline sped through my body along with a wave of heat that culminated between my legs.

Soul grabbed my shirt and pulled it off suddenly. I started to reach for my jeans, but he beat me to it, pulling them off along with my panties to leave me completely exposed.

“Mmm… So fucking beautiful,” he growled before kissing me one more time. I shivered and wrapped my arms around his neck. Or at least, I started to. He suddenly grabbed my arms and pushed them off, then he pulled away.

“S-Suldeargan?” I whispered. “What are you doing?”

I felt his hands on each of my legs and gasped. The tips of his claws were pressing into my skin, putting light pressure against my thighs. Nothing dangerous, but very threatening. He was letting me know in a very subtle way that he could hurt me if he wanted to… and fuck, did that turn me on.

He pushed my legs apart, and I felt his body on the mattress between my legs.

“S-Soul!” I tensed up and tried to close my legs. “What are–Um–You don’t need to do that. I don’t–”

“Why not?” he asked.

“I just know it’s… like, some guys find it gross, and I don’t need–”

Suddenly he shifted and his face was above mine, his red eyes staring at me once more. “I don’t give a fuck what you need. This is about me, and the fact that every inch of your body makes me feel feral with desire.” He suddenly pressed his hand against my pussy and I gasped. “This is mine. And right now, I want to feast on it. You either use your safe word, or that’s exactly what I’m going to do.”
